The defense was as putrid as it looked. But here is the best and worst of it. Just FYI anything under 60 is bad.

1. Tyrone Crawford 73.8
2. Joe Thomas . 70
3. Awuzie 69.3
4. Jaylon . 67.1
5. Dorrance Armstrong 65.8

the bottom 5

Xavier Woods 53.9
Sean Lee 51.6
Robert Quinn 51
Jeff Heath 39
LVE 30.9 . (OMG!!) . This is the lowest PFF score for a starting LB I ever seen. He's gotta be injured.

Other notables

Byron Jones 54.9
DALW 56.8
It went through my mind he might be injured but if so sub him out if he's that bad.

Looks like Covington had 3 tackles, 2 TFL. He was already our leading tackler from the dline. How did he grade?

Armstrong has been productive per snap before this game too.

Remember that tackle he made in New Orleans and he limped off the field afterward......... he had that pelvis injury in the offseason. I wonder if something isn't going on there b/c he's not right. He can't cut back and make tackles.

You could see it in the game. LVE was just missing tackles. It's not that he's getting run over, he just doesn't get himself in position. But I don't see any indication of a physical problem. Maybe they changed reads on him and he isn't picking it up.

I've been reading that he's struggling with the angles on cut back runs.

When he got signed people where acting like he was gonna basically be a glorified camp body but every rating had him as a top 10 DT for the free agency class. Considering what we paid for him he was a good pickup.

I think most were just disappointed we didn't sign a big fish for the interior. Covington and Tristy Hill just didn't excite anyone.

I’m always suspicious of coaches whose reputation rests entirely on having historically good talent, like Richard.

I don’t know at what point Jerry’s gonna figure out that rushing four and playing eight yards off just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Agreed. Even with extending Jaylon, Collins, and Zeke we still currently have 25 million in the bank right now. Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown, Jonathan Hankins, and Margus Hunt where significant upgrades from what we have and none where high dollar at all. Even mid-tier guys like McCoy and Henry Anderson where good values. It's hard to look at these players and 25 million in the bank and say "why the hell did we not sign some of them" ?

Yeah, I was surprised when I looked up his PFF for last year. Another value pickup in free agency.
