It would have been inconceivable to me years ago but I am strongly considering giving up my fan hood and watching any NFL. I know it sounds maudlin and dramatic but I have lost so much joy for the league and have interests elsewhere that I actually think it could happen. I am a hockey maniac so it’s not like there is no winter sport for me. Cowboys aside I hate what this league has done and the games are unwatchable at times. I also have no hope that the Cowboys will re capture their glory as long as the Jones family owns them. I used to think things would be better when Jerry passed on but I think Stephen will be worse is some ways. Watching this team sleep walk through the last 3 games and Jerry defending this clown of a coach has me nearing the end of the line. I went Salmon fishing the last few days so really didn’t pay attention to the game. My buddy and I were actually howling over the Jets beating them. I dropped a note here early last week and all but predicted how that game could turn out. It did.

My doomsday clock is at about 11:50. Where are you guys at? Could you give up football?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

My fandom is absolutely being tested in recent years. My fan doomsday clock is probably about the same as yours.

I've been a Cowboys fan my whole life, and have been through a lot of highs and lows - being only 34, it's been mostly lows. If Garrett is still the HC of this team next season, I very well may not be a fan of this team anymore. If Garrett got an extension, that may well be the final straw for me.

It's a lot more fun to go to a Stars game than a Cowboys game...that's for sure.

Football is the only sport I look forward to and set time aside for. I must admit, the league is not making it easy for me watch game after game like I used to and the Cowboys situation has been stinging me for nearly 1/4 century.

they jones cowboys are laughing stocks I just don't take them serious any more I know before hand they are average and will either roll over in the regular season or be one and done in the playoffs if they get there jones cowboys are a average franchise at best and have been for a long time jones cowboys are living off of longtime fans from years ago that remember what a real championship team and front office and coaching staff looks like

Not me. Guess I’m a glutton for punishment. I’ve been a Cowboy’s fan since I could walk. Seen the good, the really good, and the bad. I just love football. Can’t do it. Gonna suffer thru, because if we do some how get to the promise land, it’ll be that much sweeter.

But hey, to each their own.

I didn't get the NFL Sunday Ticket for the first time since 2011 when I got DirecTV so I have spent little time watch teams other than the Cowboys this year. However, I am not close to stop watching the Cowboys games yet.

Most old school people won't ever switch teams, but if there was ever a time to switch teams it would have been the day Jerry fired Jimmy/Jimmy walked out.

Actually that would have been a good time to just stop watching NFL games, Cowboys included.

I'm right there with you man.

I don't know if I could ever just disregard the Cowboys but my interest in the team has gone down.

DFW TV ratings were down too so it's everybody.

I've stuck with this team through thick and thin and i'll continue to cheer for them but i'm tired of watching the same thing year after year with this squad.

I adjusted my expectations over a decade ago. We have become like many apathetic venues across the NFL.

But giving up football isn’t an option just because my team suks. My Alma Mater has suked for most of my life and I still love College Football.

Winning just makes it more fun. So long buddy. Enjoy whatever you do.
