Treating bipolar disorder with marijuana would be a pretty dumb thing to do as many of the symptoms associated with the disorder would only be made worse by the affects of smoking.

Randy Gregory needs serious help.

HIPPA privacy laws prevent us from knowing much about his issues.

Teams are very limited on what they can say to the media/fans in these situations.

I don't think Gregory is Bi-Polar; however, I know a guy that should be treated with marijuana.

The guy that I know has extreme ADHD. He was probably in his forties when I met him.

He is a plumber and does not often smoke week and definitely not when working.

He has some method that he uses to function that seems similar to Rainman repeating things to himself.

A guy that has known him since High School told me that his personality becomes very normal when he smokes weed.

Eventually I did see when when he was smoking weed and the difference was incredible.

He was very much like a "normal" person.

His attention span was more than the normal 30 seconds before he gets distracted.

His normal non-stop chattering was gone and he could have a normal conversation.

There were rumors that the issue was the NFL banned Gregory for missing a drug test while he was in a treatment facility, which would trigger a complicated legal issue/battle. CBZ being CBZ, all the posts assume Gregory is stoned out of his gourd 24/7 but the reality could be a huge negotiation behind the scene or a ton of legal maneuvering between the Cowboys and the NFL. None of that would be visible to the public.

The last time Gregory was out everyone assumed he was laying in a gutter but in reality he was doing private workouts in Beverly Hills.

BS. I've never done drugs, other than alcohol. But, I've had plenty of coaches and players that have had issues with it. You dont quit on them unless you're a holy roller or just a perfect person that would never have a loved one go through those issues.
Ill quit on errbody...

Well it depends.....at some point in the near future I think the NFL will have to rethink how they handle guys smoking weed.

Has nothing to do with being prudes and everything thing to do with liability which is why most large corporations or pretty strict when it comes to drug use.

Go out and do something stupid on the clock while high and

Well every person responds differently and I’m glad some people find relief but it should be the last resort and maybe it is for Gregory.

I hope he gets better.

He gone.

I wish him well. He really would have been a nice player for this team.

You also dont use a premium draft pick on them. I understand your point though. There is nothing wrong with rolling the dice, but you have to limit the risk.

Lesson learned. You never take a chance on a person that has a substance abuse issue. It's an addiction. Injuries and attitudes can all be remedied, but addictions are hard to deal with. Gregory is a great talent but where is he? I too have to think it's more than weed.

First, the fact you felt confident typing this out is embarrassing. Second, all the people liking it are worse.

As a hearing impaired person, I look at people with substance abuse illnesses or mental health issues the same as people with disabilities. It's something they have to deal with every day and learn to be good in spite of. If you're not dealing with it, you don't know a ******** thing about it. Judging this people and/or condemning them is an afront to humanity. Your line of thinking isn't just gross, it's dangerous and threatens principles that this country was founded on. It's not your money, it's not your risk. Get over yourself and at the very least root for the dude and the fact that if he can beat his demons, he could be a monster on the field.

What a self-centered, arrogant, self-righteous, and disgusting post.

Let's just root against people with mental illnesses, substance abuse issues, and disabilities. You're a **** person.

I'm not sure we'll ever see him play again. I'm convinced there's something wrong with him that's more serious than being available on Sunday. I don't care whether or not players smoke pot. I'm especially less concerned if it's for a medical issue. But unless the rules change, I think he's going to end up on the "what if" list.

Despite the lost pick on Gregory, I hold him no ill will. I think he wants to play and can't.

Its all risk vs reward. Would you use a pick at the very end of the 2nd round for a guy with a 30% chance of being DeMarcus Ware?

I would do it every time and that was basically what the Cowboys did with Gregory.

True, bit no need to talk crap about people that struggle with addiction. Unless, they are causing harm to others, then all bets are off!!!

Big game with New England tomorrow and fans are still wondering about Gregory? We’re 11 games into the season he’s not coming back this year. The Cowboys need to cut ties with him. He can’t be depended on!

I don't see Gregory and Irving as the same kind of person. Irving clearly did not want to play football. But Gregory has stated to the league and his team he wants to be part of the team. Plus, he has never stated publicly he didn't want to play football or that he was going to retire. He told the league he wants to get himself better, whatever that means.

True and I know RG is a smart guy. He probably said all the right things. I think he was sincere at the time, but obviously could not overcome his demons. His mental health is the biggest issue in all of this. If he was more stable I doubt we are where we are today.

I dont mind the gambles, but you have to do a massive amount of homework and take educated risks.
