Was thinking about this yesterday, my guess is he’s the Quinn replacement for next season. Quinn was brought in to replace Gregory this year and when he prices himself out after the season in FA ( and rightfully so, god bless him) we’ll turn back to Gregory when he’s reinstated after missing the year.

Now who will be the Gregory replacement in 2 years when he’s suspended again after next season is anyone’s guess. Lolol

BS. I've never done drugs, other than alcohol. But, I've had plenty of coaches and players that have had issues with it. You dont quit on them unless you're a holy roller or just a perfect person that would never have a loved one go through those issues.
I see your point, but there's a difference in quitting on him as a person and giving up on him as a football player. But no one knows what is really going on with randy.

I think Randy has the same attitude Ricky Williams had. Football isn't important enough for him to quit smoking weed. Whether that's a preference, an addiction, or a treatment doesn't matter...Weed wins.
Couldn't be further from the truth.

After news reports that Gregory would file for reinstatement, we've heard pretty much nothing about him. I think at this point we have to assume he is not coming back in 2019. I suppose that would mean any return would be unlikely and Gregory's troubled career is over.

I have searched the web for news and there really isn't any, just some speculation. Gregory was just starting to look like a good player in 2018 when he was suspended again.

I find it hard to believe that Gregory's only problem is he can't stop smoking weed. There has to be more to it. Gregory was suspended for a year in 2017 for smoking weed, the same suspension Myles Garrett got for ripping the helmet off another player and trying to bash his skull in with it? Albert Haynesworth, who was also a troubled player, got two games for stomping on the helmetless head of Andre Gurode. As I recall, that wasn't his first run-in with the rules either.

I am assuming Gregory will never play another down for the Cowboys. But I would love to know what the problem is and why the Cowboys missed it when they drafted him thinking they outsmarted the rest of the league.

i think that's totally apples and oranges between the two, ,, Ricky Williams wasn't declared to have bi polar and anxiety mental issues that Gregory has had to deal with.
bu it seems that when the general society hears the word " weed" .. it instantly becomes a party hardy matter,

and i've yet to hear it questioned about Gregory's drive and effort than the way i heard it differently than say ..David Iving, who that would be an example of
football not being a high prioriety with him, the tardiness, missing team meetings, not wanting to be around his teammates, comng to camp badly
out of shape, you could read the coaches and teammates were so ho-hum with him but not near the same way with Gregory.

I stated that whether it's preference, addiction, or treatment doesn't matter. Football still isn't important enough to eschew the wacky tobaccy. I wasn't insinuating that he simply likes weed too much to quit, like Ricky did.

Well it depends.....at some point in the near future I think the NFL will have to rethink how they handle guys smoking weed.

I don't think they end testing until federal decriminalization. Which may come soon.

In the meantime, Gregory could sue under the ADA. Reasonable accommodations. Not a good look for the NFL to be dumping a guy with clear medical issues.

Ricky used marijuana to treat social anxiety.

I doubt he could win a lawsuit like that. No matter the reason, it's against the rules of the contract he signed. I imagine their position would be to simply say he didn't have to play football.
