Jerry and Belichick seem up to something

Jerry seems up to something. Two things stood out yesterday.

Jerry was especially sharp with his comments about coaching yesterday after the game. I found that odd for him, especially after losing a game on the road to the almighty Patriots in horrible weather conditions. He normally puts forward a more positive demeanor to the cameras. The Patriots aren't the Jets, and he wasn't like this after the Jets game.

So why this time and not others? Perhaps there are two reasons.
  • I think he's pissed about these stories of Garrett going to the Giants. No doubt that Garrett's agent is sending smoke signals out there with Garrett limping along on a lame-duck contract. After standing behind Garrett for so long, I think Jerry feels betrayed by that. It reminds of when Jimmy openly talked about the Jacksonville job in the 1993 season. That really upset Jerry, who issued the now famous "Any one of 500 coaches could " proclamation.
  • Is Jerry making a play for Belichick next year? Notice how over-the-top Jerry has been lately in lathering Bill Belichick with praise. He's telling stories about missing out on an opportunity to hire him back in the day. He blew mountains of sunshine up Belichick's backside after the game yesterday, claiming it's impossible to out-coach him.
The longstanding rift between Belichick and Kraft, and Belichick and Brady, is well documented. That place is said to be a miserable place to be these days. Could Jerry be looking to re-do the Parcells magic, especially in his aging state with such a talented roster assembled?

We talk all the time about Payton, Riley, Meyer, etc, but there is no more sure thing out there than bringing Belichick in here.

And do you not also find it intriguing how complementary Belichick was of Dak and the ability of this roster and coaching staff? Might he want to come in here and keep some of these coaches on board and take a run with this group? He's no spring chicken either, so if he did leave for another job, the Cowboys offer a roster that doesn't require rebuilding.

Something feels up with all this.

Honestly, this crossed my mind too.

I think Belichick is ready for a new challenge.

The only issue is Jerry has to know if Belichick came to Dallas and won big, Jerry would get zero credit.

Belichick will retire with the Patriots. This is the best defense Bill has had in years, he isn't going to be abandoning this or Brady for Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott lol
I don't think he likes that his success is so tied to Brady.

He traded Garrapolo for nothing because he wanted Brady gone and Kraft wouldn't abide. Belichick gave him away to flip the finger to Kraft. It's been Kraft/Brady versus Belichick for a good while. Brady won't retire, and Kraft won't allow Belichick to go another direction.

It bears watching.

Belichick is going to be 68 in April. Unless he is headed to the Cowboys front office, I don't think there will be any collaboration between Jerry and Hoody.

That's some pretty good reading between the lines and food for thought.

However, I'd be shocked if Belichick would play for JJ; there would be a perpetual battle for control.

Never going to happen. Kraft leaves Bellichick alone to run the team and doesn’t meddle in football decisions. That won’t happen with Jerrah , Bill would be sick of him in a minute.

He only has to wait for Brady to retire....

Bill will outlast Brady.

Parcells and Jerry had a good relationship. There's the blueprint.

Jerry is old. He already gave a ton of control to Stephen.

This would affect Stephen more than anyone at this point. He'd have to take a back seat.

Belichick? Jerry Jones? PLEASE!
This team has made so many fans go mad! Jerry Jones needs to hand out some compensation because some of our fans need to go to the psych ward to get checked out.

Belichick is retiring a Patriot, and possibly when Brady retires. The only thing Jones was doing was putting his coaches on notice about what good coaching looks like, and to get ready to be fired end of year.
