If Jerry commits that much of this team's future to Dak, he will likely finish off the franchise.I cannot wait for this contract negotiation to play itself out. There may be a delay if the franchise tag is used but it will get worked out eventually.
Jerry Jones went all in on Prescott sometime during his first two months as a professional. It was always only a matter of time before the heart attacks and strokes would happen. It would be better if some people's road to recovery occurred sooner than later.
Get it done Jerry Jones, for ALL your team fans' sakes. lol.
The amount per season and length are really irrelevent, the only thing that matters is the garanteed money, i would not like to guess at what it would be on a contract that big or long but you would have to think at least 200M, which is ridiculous and if your Dak why sign for that long without that kind of guarantee? So it will never happen
This would be a smart deal. Get your brain away from the number 400mil. Because he will play a few yrs at around 30-35mil per yr , and then will be restructured probably in yr 5 that would lower the yearly cap hits. And then probably in yr 8 or 9 he gets restructure/extended again. A longer deal makes a deal team friendly instead of the 4 yr deals like Goff and Wentz signed. That emoji u used just proves you still dont understand the way teams structure contracts and why most teams would rather sign players long term rather then short term. I dont think the number will or should be anywhere near 400mil.
I like, not love, Dak - but that's just crazy. What kind of team will be around him with that contract?
What? Dak doesn't want a contract like that unless he gets some insane amount of it guaranteed. But most likely, the last 5-6 years of such a contract would be not guaranteed, and so the contract would tie Dak here for much longer than he wants.
Or Jaylon Smith. The difference between 30 and 40 million annually is two very key starters, that #4 will desperately need.
He needs a supporting cast. He is NOT Aaron Rodgers.
This team is headed for some rough times. Some very rough ones, and the current window is about closed.
thats Madden not real lifeI thought there were limits on length of contracts, you can add length but a new contract I thought was locked at 7 years.
