There is a case for hoping the Cowboys lose the East....and that doesn't just stem from hoping Garrett goes. It's also about when he goes. The longer he remains coaching because of making the playoffs (by even a week or two or three), the fewer head coach candidates will be available because teams that didn't make the playoffs will be making their moves already.

I'm not saying that I hope the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs. I hope they find some guts somewhere and actually play, but I understand the mentality of wanting Garrett gone as soon as possible before the good candidates are gone.
