Might be missing someone but provide me some names of anyone in the past two or three years who has performed better after being paid. Just curious if there is anyone who falls in that category.

Define "better"
It is a matter of perception. There are those, and most actually, that feel no player is worth that type of money. So therefore, NO player plays better.

Now do some play the same, yes. But most will be viewed as underperforming regardless just because they got paid.

Like the stats show Zeke is not having a bad year, but because of his contract, many say is is not worth it. (remove the ones with outright hate for him).
Jaylon, he is not playing the same, maybe because LVE has not either, but I seen a few weeks ago he was leading the NFL in tackles. But the entire defense is sucking, so that is more on the coaching.

Zach Martin responded with another all-pro year. This time another first team mention in 2018 after a 2nd year AP year in 17

Same with Frederick who was named to the first team All-pro squad for the first time after signing his deal.

Can't really predict when one will injury their back or get a rare disease.

Yeah, but sometimes threads get lost when no one responds right away as many threads do not get looked at once they get to the 2nd page.

And just think 90% of this board seemed to want LC gone. But now he is playing pretty well. Wonder where those posters are saying now. Then again they never like any player.

You guys are quick to come down on Zeke, and I get it.

But he's had another 1,000 yard season and has already outperformed his touchdown total from last season, when he was the rushing champion. And mind you this has been within an offense that has repeatedly abandoned the run and has opted to throw the ball way more than we had previously seen before.

Probably Romo's best year was his last full year in 2014. So after the big payday.
There's several QBs. Brees after his 1st big payday way back when. Many others.

But really, the because 4-5 year rookie deals, the NFL is setup to pay players, in part, based on past performance.

Because of their NFL lifeline being fairly short and the rookie deals being 4-5 years, RBs often do not have their best year after signing a big deal.
It's the reason why it's a DOUBLE whammy to sign one in the top 5. They cost the equivalent of 2 mid 1st rounders plus their rookie deal is already fairly large.....yet the odds are high they will decline soon after their 2nd contract.

But they certainly aren't alone.

lol anybody with a big contract are not worth it to this forums trolls. Then if theyre let go they create treads how we should rue their loss and the FO fails because they let them go. Lol u see how Xwalker still hasnt gotten over Parnell?

Dont mind them, they dont even watch the games to see what the real problem is. Theyre too busy crying in game threads instead of watching the game.

I wanted La'el gone. But like people have said, his play has greatly improved and I'm fine with him now. I don't think most people hate certain players, they just want them to perform better/up to their standards.

Kinda hard not to abandon the run when your 90 million dollar RB has his hands on his hips between most plays and is asking to be taken out on critical downs.

Mind you, he has done all of this with a top 5 run blocking O line his entire career and by the time this season is over his carry total will be right in line with last year and maybe even ‘16.

La'el Collins this year.

Zack Martin became football's highest paid guard two years ago and his play hasn't really slipped either. If he's had any dropoff it's due to the nagging back issues he's had since camp.

And really, that's all I can think of.
