Has a team ever got the ball to start both halves? I’ve never seen it. This will be the third rule that I’ve seen dug out of the rule book in the last few years, all against us.

Yes, but I'm not sure it has happened since the defer option was added. The winner of the coin toss gets choices. The loser gets the exact same choices in the 2nd half that you had in the first. So if you pick kick, they can pick receive in the second half.

We don't do third down stops. If there opposition doesn't screw up, we allow a first down. That's our strategy. Play off and hope they screw it up
