"Now I would wager that if he [gave everything] to buy the team, he would do it exactly like I do it,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “I would wager that. Because you just want to, ultimately, with that much on the line and that much at stake, you want to break any ties and make the calls.”

Since 1996 the other Superbowl winning owners that ”gave everything to buy a team" hire a GM and let him do his job. His lack of success is the elephant in the room of every interview about the GM position.

He's a straight liar, deluding himself, or truly believes that his involvement is what they all do.

I have two owners that don't get involved every day and look at them:
Kraft and the Holt family (Spurs).

Lol, ya think Jerry? Further proof that he would rather lose than give up the power to being proved wrong all these years.

LOL. What an idiotic response from Jerry.

Yo Jerry, there are dozens of other owners that also invested a lot in buying their teams but were smart enough to realize their football knowledge is limited and brought in people to try to make them a winning franchise. You are really the only owner other than the late Al Davis that believes that only the owner can shape the football direction of the franchise.

23 years of total futility would tell smarter men than you that what is being done isn't working. All Jerry did was prove Aikman right............... he's a stubborn control freak.

Ya gotta give Jerry credit for not making any type of personal attacks on Troy. Most people would, after being criticized that way. Not that Troy was wrong, or even that he was wrong to say it. Just saying ya gotta give Jerry some props for not turning this into a distraction.

I think a lot of us have known someone like that at one time or another, now the purchase isn't nearly as large but the I paid for it and I will do as I please with it, has a familiar ring to it. Hopefully his persistence will pay off, what choice do we have.

When rich people "want something" they have no concept of not getting or why they wouldn't. The rest of us understand that just because we "want something" doesn't mean that's the best or most logical thing to attain our longterm goals. Jerry is the single greatest reason for ALL of the Cowboys issues.

At some level I get what Jerry is saying, at least initially. But at this point he has nothing on the line based on his GM duties.
He's philthy rich and sits on a cash cow which has zero dependence on his abilities as a GM.

Troy has been feeling himself too much lately. Last week he even went after Mahomes for no reason.
