Just watched some all-22 and saw up close two weird plays by Gallup, which were noticed during the game but made even more obvious watching them again.

One was a bomb to the right. Not particularly well thrown, but Gallup made no effort at all to adjust and get near the ball. If the safety coming over had bothered to look up, he'd have an easy pick because Gallup wouldn't have been there to contest.

The other was a slant where he just pulled up, and Dak's sidearm throw was almost picked.

What did y'all think was going on for those plays?

I think we should cut him.

yes the first one wasn't catchable but had Gallup made more effort and purposely ran into the safety trying to get to it, that can get a DPI for sure..he will be taught that in film study.. the other yes he stopped his route for no apparent reason but maybe thought the ball was gone already.. he pulled a Crayton lol

Was the sun behind him om the deep one? Whoever planned that stadium to have sunlight in those sides should be shot!

first play, poor throw by dak. second play, gallup just lost sight of dak which is on gallup. he doesn't seem like someone to repeat mistakes.

Poor throw, but he's gotta play hard to get to that ball. As mentioned above, could potentially draw a PI if the safety doesn't turn. That attention to max effort on the little things is what championship teams do.

I am reminded of a year the immortal goat, Tom Brady, threw an interception in SD which would have ended their playoff run. But the receiver on the play hustled during the return, forced a fumble which was recovered, and they were able to complete the comeback. We need players with that never die attitude. Gallup seems like someone who could have that attitude, but we need to instill it in every player as part of the culture.

On the second one, Gallup couldn't see the quarterback because of the pressure Dak threw around. Because he couldn't see that Dak was throwing the ball, he might have thought that Dak was going to have to scramble and was preparing to break to the outside to give Dak a target. The important lesson for him there is that he should continue his route until he knows for sure what is going on since the QB can't read his mind.

More time to develop his game and better coaching might help. He's young yet. Hopefully, experience and hard coaching might cure his shortcomings.

Well it could be that he was the 3rd option on that play and dak usually goes to the first, and sometimes the 2nd, so if your 3rd, he wont expect the ball
so takes the play off, just going thru the motions.

The "almost" interception near the end zone was on Gallup. He is supposed to cut inside the face of the receiver. It seems that he stopped his route.
I don't remember the bomb.

Gallup, right now, is Terrence Williams. The sooner we understand that, the better off we'll all be.

Right? And moreover: why for the love of God has it not been corrected? How much does it cost to throw up some curtains, with a Cowboys star on them?

I am pretty sure it was designed like this as the previous stadium had the same sun challenges. It wouldn't be a Cowboys stadium if the sun wasn't in their eyes at one end of the field kind of thing.
