That win caused us at least 6 spots in the draft

Normally I would agree, but the Commanders had no intention to win the game. It would have been pretty difficult to lose outside of us benching our 1st and 2nd stringers across the board.

Nor was the gnats winning either. I knew when they lost last week was the end for us. You must handle your own business.

So what you're saying is that they messed up because you were hoping the team would just roll over and play dead despite the fact that there was a game going on at the same time to decide a play-off berth? This just to gain some draft spots? I can assure you that not one single player on the Dallas Cowboys is concerned with their position in next year's draft.
They rolled over and played dead numerous times this year, what’s one more time?

I can’t fathom what this team was concerned with because it certainly wasn’t winning football. They messed their pants anytime they weren’t facing a tomato can.

The jets finished one game behind us in the loss column but are picking 11th. If we lost yesterday we would be picking 10th instead of 17. I usually don’t care for losing for draft positioning but that’s a low to mid round jump. We messed up.

Maybe this is why Garrett was so ecstatic in his press conference yesterday. He knows he’s getting fired anyways and this was his way of sticking it to Jerry on his way out the door by winning a meaningless game that actually hurts the team

I don’t know why people continue saying we lost a draft position. When the Cowboys don’t do anything normal in the first place. They’ll take a guy in the second round in the first round. There’s no rhyme or reason to what we do and that’s why the franchise tortures us

Players are always going to play. They have performance bonuses and new contracts on the line for next year.

The Eagles/Giants was very much in doubt until the 4th quarter when PHI turned it on.

Concerned? There wasn’t a look of dejection on that sideline when they zoomed in near the end of the 4th. I seen nothin but smiles. Only straight face I saw was Witten and that was with a helmet on. These guys dodnt seemed bothered at all.

I'm pretty sure losing this game would've given us the 10 th pick.

Supposedly 12th, but I think about 14th. But some goofball in another thread wanted to call me out on that and throw out the insults at me.
Anyway it is not that big of a difference at this point. They had to try to win the game for the playoffs.

Yes and the Giants were tied with Eagles mid third and Daniel Jones fumbled a snap down 3.
by the time they knew eagles would win it was too late to throw the game.
up to that point they had to try and win for possible wc spot.

Another meaningless last day win for Garrett. Too bad he doesn't go all out in play-in games.

A few draft spots don’t make a huge difference unless you’re in the top 5. There are good teams drafting in the 20s every year and they seem to find pretty good players to keep winning.
We could have gotten CeeDee Lamb. No need to pay Cooper then, so you could go use that money elsewhere.

We have 29 contracts expiring. Going to be a very different roster.

This hurt us.

Oh no! I had no idea those few slots would have such an impact on our future.

Which is why Garrett saying “this was out of our control” is laughable.

This! You had it in your control against the egirls 3rd stringers and could not get it done, freaking unacceptable. Then turn around and beat a VERY BAD skins team who like the gnats were not giving up there draft position and now you have some wanting to keep the clapping carrot.
