See how much he wants to stay. I like him. All the WR had drops this year but he made some plays.

Good teams replace these types of guys in the draft. Hence his ex-team being in the playoffs with a bye.
His ex team has a good HC and a very good QB who generally does not bounce balls into the turf or overthrow a receiver wide open.
Plus his ex teammates all play with a matter of pride and intensity.
That’s why they are watching the playoffs this week with a bye.

I rather keep Amari and draft Cobb’s replacement.
I want to know why Cooper dropped off at the end of the year after saying he was healthy. I was under the impression he was injured. We used him plenty so it’s not like he isn’t getting the ball. He was saying he was rotated off the field. What ever it was had him looking dejected.

I let him walk. His catch radius is too small. Not to mention hes getting older.

55 for 828 and 3 tubs, keep or let go?

Did have some drops and a fumble or two but also had 2/3 TD’s and a few big plays get called back by phantom penalties,

One thing to keep in mind about Cobb. His play really turned around in the back half of the season.

He was a disaster in the first half, but really great in the second half. I think it's reasonable to consider the back half of the season more indicative of what we'll get next year. There was a clear learning curve to get in synch with Dak.

I was against him when he came.
I was against him after the first half of the season.
But looking at the back half of the season, we've got to keep him.

I hope his agent doesn't break down the data like this.

Cobb 2019
Code:
Games Rec/Att Cmp% Yards Y/A TD INT QBrating
First 8 26/40 65% 283 7.1 1 4 54.5
Last 8 30/45 67% 554 12.3 2 0 123.8

All the quick, crisp route running we saw last year disappeared in the back half of this season.

And yeah, he looked dejected on and off the field. Seriously seemed clinically depressed in one interview.

He may have been hurt. May have been depressed. But by the end of the season he was nowhere near the player we saw last year.

Makes me afraid to pay him the money he wants.

While some will say no way in hell, I say re-sign him to a 3-year $18 million contract with $9 million guaranteed while letting Amari Cooper go. Dallas can't afford to pay Cooper with so many other free agents on the team. While Cobb is 30 compared to a much younger Cooper, he will command far less money and there wasn't a huge difference in production:

Amari Cooper 79 catches (119 targets) 66.4% catch % 1,189 yards 15.1 ypc 8 TD's 5 drops

Randall Cobb 55 catches (83 targets) 66.3% catch % 828 yards 15.1 ypc 3 TD's 8 drops

If you take away Amari Cooper's game against Green Bay (11 catches 226 yards 1 TD), the two were only 13 catches and 135 yards apart from one another. Also keep in mind that Amari Cooper only had 4 of 16 games where he eclipsed 100 yards and ALL 4 of those games came within the first 10 weeks of the season with 3 of them coming within the first 7 games of the season.

Have Gallup as your #2 with Cobb as the slot guy. Get another solid #2 type WR and re-sign Jarwin as the starting TE.

Keep, it was an off year for Cobb but he is a reliable 3rd option with the lack of consistent play from the TE position.

I'd try and retain him. I thought he was a great fit in Dallas and being that he is heading into the back-end of his career, you may be able to get him on another reasonable contract.

I think we've already got our top WRs. Cooper/Gallup/Cobb/Smith/Pollard. Leaves us room to draft a guy we like, but we won't have to.

Let Witten go. Bring on a TE or two. I've got no faith in Schultz either. Make him compete not to get cut. Train a T as a short yardage blocking TE.

Dump Olawale. I've been big on him, but for whatever reason, they used him even less this year than last, which was already laughably little. Old ST player who we do *nothing* with on offense. He's got to go.

He was a decent / cheaper replacement for Beasley. Offer him the veteran minimum with incentives. He's at the age level where not every team wants him.

I think they should bring him back...…..continuity. If anything, wave bye-bye to Tavon.

My prediction is he will sign another one year deal with a championship contender or get his money everywhere else. Question is does he think the Cowboys just had a bad year.

What i see happening is we will resign everyone else except for him and Jones.

Not many 3rd / 4th round guys are going to come in and put up Cobbs numbers.

I bring him back on a one year deal, draft his replacement and let him learn.

He’s 29. He could get a 2-3 year deal.

I think he’s gone. His numbers are good. He will get signed in FA by another team.
