Mike McCarthy was a failure worse than Garrett in his last 2 seasons in Green Bay, causing him to be fired mid-season.

I don't understand the excitement of him being our new HC. Is it just because he studied film and has an analytics team? That might be new for him but it's not new for the Cowboys.

IMO, Mike McCarthy road the coattails of great QBs and it's a huge disappointment that he's now our coach. I hope he doesn't have much to do with our offense because without Rogers here to make him look good it's going to be ugly if we use his offense.

So we should only focus on his last two seasons, rather than his whole tenure at Green Bay. Got it, great suggestion there. By your account Billichick did not make the divisional round this year so he sucks. Mind I remind you of Garrett's last decade with this team?

He went to the playoffs 8 straight years.

Brett Farve gives McCarthy HUGE credit for helping him at the end of his career by making the Packers a more run-heavy offense.

Toward the end, Rodgers wouldn't run the plays McCarthy sent in, and the run game dried up. McCarthy wants to run the football. Rodgers did not.

The Packers wouldn't spend money in free agency when McCarthy was there. Once he left, they spent massive money in free agency. Kind of messed up.

The more I read and understand, the better I like the hire, especially considering the doofus we have in charge.

That's your opinion, because you believe the quarterback makes the coach.
Yet McCarthy won a Super Bowl, and Rogers never complained.
Rogers would look pretty silly out there trying to play by himself.

Sigh...

I wanted a different guy, but the more I learn about him the better I feel about the hire. His new attitude regarding analytics combined with an innovative coordinator will pay dividends. Defense is the real challenge. We have talent. Just need to get them in a position to win. The defensive coordinator will make or break this team.
