Dallas = America's team
Carolina = Some team in the NFL

Bingo.

Was Rhule enamored by all the trophies and HOF’s walking in? That’s right the Owner flew to Waco.

People making excuses for Jerry as usual.

He and his son's insistence on sitting out there are problem #1 with this franchise.

Jerry's analogy to McCarthy being available at this time was the same as Aikman being available when he bought the team was awful. As were his dumb stories, including his sister wanting a divorce and not "hearing bells" anymore.

Stephen laughing the whole time like a teenage school girl with a crush was embarrassing too.

However, I did like all the things McCarthy said and I'm not his biggest fan.

No one is making excuses..

We're telling you this is how it's gonna be with the Cowboys. If you don't like it, you should find another team to root for or go try your luck convincing Jerry to change, yourself. Lol

Looking at two new NFL head coaches being introduced to the media today, one couldn’t help but notice some major contrasts between how the two organizations introduced their new HC.

In Carolina’s press conference, new HC Matt Rhule was introduced by Panthers owner David Tepper, who after introducing Rhule, exited the stage. Rhule walked to the stage, spoke a few min about his philosophy, then took questions from the media. Neither Tepper nor his General Manager took the stage to talk to the media. Their new HC clearly is their mouthpiece. Here’s a link to the Panther PC:

(Intro starts about 6 min in)

In the Cowboys press conference to introduce Mike McCarthy, owner/GM/Jock sorter/Hotdog vender Jerry Jones sat alongside his new HC along with his VP and #1 son, Stephen Jones. The Jones boys talked more than Coach Mac. Quite a contrast to the Rhule intro. Here’s link to today’s Cowboys presser:

(Jerry starts the PC off at about 3:30 mark)

Big deal about zip,zero,nada...

It would be a miracle if the Jones family steps away from the spotlight to let the HC do their job and the Cowboys can be run like a regular organization. Unfortunately, that won't happen. Once Jerry is gone then Stephen will replace him as the face of the franchise/mascot.

McCarthy is pretty much the last hope, especially given all the "control" that they are giving him. If it doesn't work with McCarthy and things go sour with the Joneses, there are no other options for the Jones regime. They would probably go back to finding a puppet like Witten and we'll be on a long Super Bowl drought like the Browns/Lions

It's business as usual with the Jones boys. Jerry will be less involved when a) the men in the white coats come for him, b) he has an incapacitating medical issue, or c) he is six feet under. That doesn't mean we can't win our first div game in 25 years, it just means Jones' antics make it very difficult. McCarthy is an upgrade over the carrot clapper, but only a fool believes Jerry has relinquished any control.

Here's a more fair comparison.

Contrast with Bill Parcells introduction:

or Wade Phillips

I can't find anything with Jason Garrett's introduction. Somewhere between Wade and Mike McCarthy, they stopped using the podium and a table instead.

McCarthy made a comment about that too. Said it was the first time he was seated at a table for a press conference. On purpose?

Parcells started using a table for his press conferences pretty soon after taking over.

Garrett brought back the podium the day he took over.

Sorry, Bob, but this assessment reeks of a disgruntled Landry disciple baby boomer.

If you actually paid attention to the presser, McCarthy had a lot to say and gave a lot of good answers to questions. Stephen even made the comment that he's hardly gotten a word in and jokingly commented that he would keep talking if asked another question. Jerry was also a lot more quiet than usual but I absolutely wanted him on that stage because he hardly has been available to the media for close to two weeks now. There's a lot I wanted to hear from him as well.

If there is anything disgusting on that tape to criticize Jerry for, it's his incessant sucking off of the Garrett family in front of his new Head Coach. That was entirely inappropriate given the context of the situation.

I respectfully disagree. Bob like most us only cares about one thing: Winning and I mean deep playoff runs type of winning. How we win, is irrelevant from a fans POV. All I know is we are a quarter of a century since our last NFC championship appearance. That sucks and there's no other suspect but JJ for why that is.

If Jerry can do his things his way by micromanaging the team and we finally win a measly div playoff game then cool. But pardon Bob and other baby boomers if we are skeptical of doubting the great and powerful OZ of Arkansas. His football acumen speaks for itself as do the past 25 years. I simply won't believe it until I see it that we can win a div playoff game this year or any other year that Jerry is still around to screw things up.

But don't take my word for it, just review the past 2+ decades of what teams played in the NFC championship game. I think you'll find that the Dallas Jonesboys are conspicuously missing. Maybe us baby boomer remember when Dallas was the gold standard of elite franchises. Or maybe you have lowered your standards to match Jerry's results. Either way, we are all fans.
