Here's a name to think about - Eric Ebron. A former Lions 1st round draft pick. He's coming off of a down, injury-plagued 2019, but his 2018 was off t charts. Depending on his asking price, he's as physically talented a TE as you could ask for.
He is good but I also want to see how Jarwin plays in the WCO.

I think he has two bad ankles though that may need surgery, believe I read that somewhere, but I do like him.

I'd rather have jarwin if that was our only other option.

Ebron seems injured often and last season was his only good season, now he's old.

This should be good, tell us how "old" he is?

I think he did have the surgery. I believe that's why they put him on IR with a few weeks remaining in the regular season. He wanted to get himself 100% healthy for his upcoming free agency.

I'll pass. I'd rather have Jack doyel than ebrone.

There is a guy on the packers Robert Tonyan that I wish Mike could have brought with him.

Is Doyle a free agent? I didn't know that. He's a good player too.

I'm not sure if he is. But I only said that because he and ebrone played together. Ebrone is nice but I'd rather have doyle of the two.

They were a good combo on the field together though. Wish we had that.

Here's a list from Spotrac. I'm not seeing Doyle on it. He may have reupped in Indianapolis.

One name of note is Richard Rodgers. He played for McCarthy in Green Bay.

We should trade the iggles for Dallas Goedirt since they stole him from us in the draft.

Tight Ends in the West Coast Offense

"Tight Ends are often the subject of mismatches in this offense if a slower linebacker or smaller safety is tasked with covering the Tight End. These Tight Ends MUST be able to function as a wide receiver when it comes to catching the ball and skillfully running routes."

Jarwin or we draft a 1st round TE? Please don't say Witten.

why does it have to be a TE in the 1st round ? Even Witten was drafted in the 3rd round TE.

maybe McCarthy is/will change the dynamics in the way the Cowboys usually like to operate in FA -per Stephen Jones.
Otherwise I don't see Cowboys pursuing a heralded big name TE in FA. (as Jared Cook was available in FA a couple of years ago)
It would have to be in the NFL draft, and the likelihood to select a top quality TE draftee would have to be within the first three rounds.

I have to disagree with that. I think that there are too many other big needs to use a high draft pick on a TE.
Our wish list is much longer than our ability to fill
I’d love a dynamic TE but there are bigger needs with those top 3 picks
Most of our DT’s are free agents and most of our secondary is either now or next year

Also Brugler's current draft board doesn't have a TE listed until the middle of second round. That could change if an underclassmen declares but even a 2nd round pick isn't going to contribute a lot as a rookie.

There are posters here rueing the fact we didn't get Dallas Goedert but he only caught 33 balls on 44 targets as a rookie. Even if he was the #1 TE he wouldn't have been able to fill the role Dallas needs next year.

The real position that will get an upgrade in McCarthy's west coast style offense is.......FULLBACK!!!!!!

Jarwin is an ideal TE for McCarthy's offense as he's really just a big WR. Witten and Schultz don't really fit. Noah Brown may see new life as a TE in this offense. Hikutini is very much the big WR type as well - he's got a shot to make the roster and be the most misspelled player name of 2020.

Good catch. He has the draft pedigree.
