I’m of the mind that I believe a good season more than a bad one. Any player for any number of reasons can look /perform bad. But you typically have to be good to look good. So yes I think he’ll bounce back, barring additional injury issues

Let's be honest here, LVE has not having s good year before he got hurt

He had a really good rookie year than crash...you guys think he gets back to his rookie form?
That's for his body to decide. Neck injuries are serious matters. Thus Peyton's retirement.

He's about to have his neck fused using bone from other parts of his body. Meaning loss of mobility after recovery. And they are trying to build a special neck rig into his uniform to hold the neck in place and help prevent another injury which could be catastrophic to the man.

What does that sound line to you?

I've heard some rumors that the neck thing could be worse than we're being told and potentially a career-ending thing.

I'm concerned about that.

Another wasted draft pick to be honest.. even when healthy the guy was missing tackles like it was part of the game plan. I hope he gets healthy and has a long career but I’m not that optimistic.

No. Not in the long run.
He may bounce back next season, but the most likely scenario is continuing spinal problems.
Sad after such a promising start to his career.

Sounds like there are more important things than football. I'd much rather see this young man have a good quality of life than play football for my favorite team and risk permanent damage or paralysis...

Isn't this the same condition that caused Irvin to call it quits?

Michael Irvin's injury was in 1999. There have been significant improvements in treatments and surgeries in the ensuing 21 years.

Well we have a real NFL headcoach now ..... So we will see if they go linebacker in the draft.

I believe it is.

What bothers me is the team knew he had a history of it and still took him as high as they did.

This is the risk reward this team constantly plays around with in our draft.

Randy Gregory is another example. Had a positive test right before the draft but we still took him.

Zero.

Jaylon Smith is the Golden Horse of drafting a high risk player. Its confusing.

My eyes see issues with his ability to cover passes and he is handicapped running in certain directions due to the injuries still..

Yet we extended his deal before the season..

now he gets selected Pro Bowl as a substitute.

Which is he?

Good and getting better?

Or good and flatlining and as good as he can hope to be?

I'm not optimistic. Great rookie year. Terrible first half of his second year where he was playing soft, even when healthy. Neck injury only makes it worse.
