Jimmy Johnson earned his way into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Jimmy Johnson ALSO earned his exclusion from the Cowboys Ring of Honor.

It is possible for BOTH of the above statements to be true.

Wha?

The ROH was there before Jerry Jones and it will be there after Jerry Jones. He is merely its temporary custodian. Jimmy Johnson's contribution to the history of the Dallas Cowboys is not in dispute and his relationship with the custodian shouldn't be a factor.

How can one ridicule his boss in front of the world and expect to be honored by him?

don’t you mean in front of a table at a private party? Also ridiculous people tend to be ridiculed.
A private party? Do you know about the event? So does the rest of the world, because there is no privacy in a situation like that.

We must remember our ROH doesn't really have any significance beyond Cowboy fans. There’s no certain criteria or voting involved. Simply one person deciding the fate which lessens its validity.

I always understood why Jimmy hadn’t been inducted because of his brief tenure. But when you throw in his 4 years at Miami it’s only one season short of Maddens 10 year career at Oakland who only won one Super Bowl.

The HOF wants the best of the best of each era. And in the 90’s no HC made a bigger IMPACT than Jimmy. And why he belongs.

The great aspect about the HOF is not everyone gets in after their initial years of eligibility. It can come often decades later and unfortunately even posthumously which doesn’t lessen its value.

This sounds like the “Boss is always right “ argument or the old golden rule adage, “He who has the gold rules”. Just wrong.

Jerry didnt earn his HOF induction, it only happened because of Jimmy Johnson. If I was Jimmy I wouldn't want to be in the Ring of Honor. Who cares?
Jerry has been a blubbering fool for 31 years since he bought the team. He made one smart decision during that time and that was to hire Jimmy. The one move has carried him to all his success.
Our idiot owner fired a back to back SB winning head coach because he wasn't kissing up to him. Talk about cutting your nose off despite your face!!!! To this day that move still boils my blood.

All these years later have you heard Jimmy actually apologize for acting like a 12 year old way back when? Maybe you only believe that Jerry was the 12 year old?

museum
noun
: an institution devoted to the procurement, care, study, and display of objects of lasting interest or value

The Dallas Cowboys Ring Of Honor is just that. A museum. A place where individuals of historical significance are preserved for visitors to see and reflect upon.

Regardless of any one person's emotion, Jimmy Johnson impacted the history of the Dallas Cowboys in a way that cannot, has not, shall not and should not be forgotten for generations of the franchise and NFL fans alike. And Johnson is not the only one.

The denial of history within its proper place is a travesty. Shame on Jerry Jones. Heck. Shame on the Board of Selectors too concerning other Dallas Cowboys from history but I will stay on topic.

Jones is not a perfect person. No one is. Jones is a curator of Dallas Cowboys history however. During his time with his franchise, his supposed friend accomplished what only the late great Tom Landry did--coached two Super Bowl winning teams.

Landry is in the Ring of Honor. His counterpart is not. Shameful.

As I said earlier, the Ring Of Honor is a museum. Jones is its current curator. Jones is acting like a disgruntled Frenchman, born and raised in Paris, who eventually was given the privilege of becoming curator of The Lourve...

...and decided on his own that Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa had no place in HIS museum because he did not like how she smiled at him.

smh

I didn’t say Jimmy never did anything wrong. But to hold a grudge against him to stonewall him from the ROH is just petty. Jerry doesn’t have the success he’s had without Jimmy. And vice versa. Life’s too short to be petty.

Wrong. Jerry might put the members in the ROH but they earn the right to be there. The fans deserve to see it. Tired of hearing about Jerry and his petty ways. He wouldn't have his lousy 3 SB rings without Jimmy and then where would he be? Oh that's right nowhere. He sure wouldn't have the fanbase he does today. He's been living off those 90's teams for 25 years. Tom Landry didn't even like Jerry. He died a Giants fan.
