“Aldon’s great because Aldon’s been working out with our [military veterans] in our MVP program every single Wednesday night,” Jay Glazer said.

“Aldon has been sober for a while and he’s been helping a lot of our vets with their sobriety.”

Aldon Smith was one of the best defensive players in the NFL before the substance abuse issues and domestic violence allegations caught up to him and pretty much derailed his career. These problems and a hit-and-run incident in 2015 ended up earning him a one-year suspension from the league. That’s last we’ve heard from him… until now.

If what Jay Glazer says is true and the 30-year-old DE has indeed turned his life around, teams around the league would probably jump at the chance at adding a talent like Aldon Smith. It’s not very often these WAR DADDY pass rushers become available, especially one that could be had rather cheaply.

HELLO DALLAS COWBOYS!!!

The Dallas Cowboys could be looking for more defensive end help with the possibility of Robert Quinn leaving via free agency. It’s still possible Quinn could be brought back if his asking price isn’t too high, but that shouldn’t stop them from trying to add Aldon Smith to the mix as well.

Aldon Smith proved to be one of the best pass rushers in the league during his short time in the NFL. Not only did he accumulate 19.5 quarterback sacks in a single season, but he also racked up 47.5 in just 59 career games. And guess what… most of his success came under the tutelage of Jim Tomsula, the Dallas Cowboys new defensive line coach.

Jim Tomsula was Aldon Smith’s DL coach with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014 before Smith’s eventual release. Tomsula should have firsthand knowledge about not only the former All-Pro’s talents, but his character as well. If Smith has indeed turned his life around, the Cowboys new DL coach could be the link that brings his talents to Dallas.

That’s enough of these crazy ideas. 1st it’s Philip Rivers coming here now Aldon Smith.

Let me say while I posted this I am not advocating signing him. Chances are the most I would be willing to do is bring him in and work him out and go from there. I highly doubt there will be any interest

Reunite? No way! Aldon's far from being "great". This guy' bad news that's why he was never re-signed.

April 4, 2016 Smith re-signed with the Raiders. On October 27, 2016, Smith applied for reinstatement. However, no reinstatement occurred, resulting in Smith sitting out the entire 2016 and 2017 NFL seasons.

Following an alleged domestic violence incident, the Raiders released Smith on March 5, 2018. Touche'

I am all for people who have turned their life around getting a second chance. They make the biggest impact by their life experiences that some would not listen to otherwise.

This is the type of player that's got this team in the trouble its in in the first place. Enough of these "red-shirt" injured college players and "rehabbed" addicts already. The NFL is a win now league, not win in 2 or 3 years when our players get healthy or out of drug programs. Let someone else bite that bullet. Enough of this crap already Jerry...

My hope is Quinn comes back or we get a legit pass rusher in the 1st round and Randy Gregory returns.

Here is the deal its not absurd by any means. If the Dallas Cowboys want to get back into the thick of things they need to be active in free agency (two starters),
have a damn good draft (3 starters) and take a couple of gambles and Aldon Smith would be a good gamble.

Yes that is Jerry Jones make up of a defensive player...unreliable (off field issues), unavailable (injured), or unplayable (bad mix of player, team, and coach).

Aldon is a Dawg for real, and the Cowboys lack that on defense. Tomsula is a natural direction to look even if he wasn't in DAL, so a lot of information about Aldon's last couple years has to be researched.

DAL needs to perform there due diligence on this because they need all the help they can get, but dude needs to right mentally.
