Timb2's Predictions

1-Curtis Weaver(6'-3",265 lbs)DE Boise State.

Reason-We really need a youthful pass rusher who can come in and lock down the RDE spot for the next decade. Weaver has 33 1/2 career sacks and holds the record in the Mountain West Conference for most sacks and Weaver is coming out after his junior year. Yes he beat Demarcus Lawrence in career sacks.

2-Brycen Hopkins(6-5",245 lbs)TE Purdue

Reason-We need to put Jason Witten out in the pasture and not sure Blake Jarwin will step up to become the 1st string TE. Hopkins can separate and stretch the field.Has great hands had over 800 yards in receiving and had 7 TDs last season.

3-Trevon McSwain (6'-6",285 lbs)DT Duke

Reason-We need a DT who can become a dominant threat. McSwain also is something we don't have and that is a big tall DT. McSwain has not a flabby body,he is in good shape and looks like he could hold 300 lbs ,no problem. 4 sacks last season

4-Douglas Coleman(6'-1",200 lbs)S Texas Tech

Reason-While most draft experts want Cowboys to draft either Delpit or McKinney with our 1st round pick.I say there is talent later that can have as just as much impact, like Coleman who had 8 interceptions last season. We need a ballhawk and Coleman is not afraid to tackle where he had 63 TOT and 50 were solo tackles.

5th -Jordan Mack(6'-2",230 lbs)OLB Virginia

Reason-We need not sleep that our LBs are healthy in Vander Esch or Jaylon Smith or that Joe Thomas ,Sean Lee,and Justin March who are free agents will be back. Mack can play MLB or OLB .Mack can become the guy who can takeover for Sean Lee's spot. 69 TOT 36 solo 33 assist 7 1/2 sacks last season

5-Drew Richmond(6'-5",315 lbs)OT USC

Reason-We need a valuable OT backup who can play either OT spots if needed. This is a necessary position because Tyron Smith keeps having back problems. Eventually it will catch Smith and he will miss a large part of a season or even have to call it a career. Richmond is overshadowed by the LT Jackson at USC which is good where we could get a athletic OT late in the draft.

7th-Kenny Robinson(6'-2",200 lbs)CB West Virginia

Reason-Robinson was drafted by the XFL, but he still can be drafted into the NFL. He is a talented Safety who has enough size and speed to play CB. I do not expect the XFL to be around for long and if we hold his rights by using a 7th round pick for a player who should have been a 2nd or 3rd rounder? We will look like geniuses!!!

These would be the UDFAs I would sign for the Cowboys

(I would sign Stevens to become a TE)

That's not a better team (talent-wise) than last year's squad. Off-season is about getting better.

Starting secondary would be worst in the league.

Huge step backwards.

I think it depends on how things go. Both Brown & Lewis can play at the corners. Thompson IMO is much better than Heath and Thompson has Wilson breathing down his neck. Woods has to produce with my 4th round pick Coleman right behind him also Wilson could be in the hunt as a FS also.. People poop too much on Awuzie but he has been a very good corner.Lets see if he can be the #1 Corner here. So he is not Jalen Ramsey, many players are not Jalen Ramsey......We don't break the bank on aging fossils who I let walk as free agents. We can use that money for Prescott & and we franchise Amari Cooper.....I am also not keen on getting NFL free agents and spending a ton for players who have aged and are not the same players as they once were.

We are trying to get away from the small DT inside, and the only one you draft is a #285 player in McSwaim who looks like a solid backup to Lawrence. No thank you.
Nice effort on the draft bro. But just don't see Weaver in the First or McSwaim in the 4th at all. Also need a better Safety and corner my man.

*-Trevon McSwain is a Chinese Buffet away from 300 lbs....

*-Curtis Weaver has more career sacks and is the career sacks leader in the Mountain West better than Demarcus Lawrence.,Shaq Barrett, and Tyrone Crawford.

*We only lose 2 DBs Byron Jones (free agency)and Jeff Heath(release). Most of the UDFAs DBs go to the practice squad except I am thinking that Stantley Oliver-Thomas can be the 4th or 5th CB...Also when I do the 53,I have Donavan Olumba & Chris Westry making the 53 who both can also be corners or safeties.Give some of these players a chance to prove they can be players... Olumba looked great last preseason...Westry is 6'-4" and running a 4.21 forty....

Thompson better than Heath? I know its your opinion but, really? He sucked when Heath was out because of his shoulders.

I see Thompson as a strong safety. Heath cost us a lot in coverage. Thompson also is a harder hitter than Jeff Heath.
