With a huge amount of cap about to be eaten by a few players it is necessary to hit on multiple starting players and the special teams needs to be revamped as well. This will require adding more picks and maneuvering around quite a bit.

here are some ideas.

Trade pick 17 to GB picks 30, 62 and 126 - 950 points each
GB needs a top flight WR Ruggs for example.

That puts us with 30, 51, 62, 82, 113, 126, 147, 5th rd comp for Bease, and 209

30 SS Mckinney or Delpit
51 CB Gladney, Arnette, Diggs, Dantzler etc.
62 3-tech Elliott, Gallimore, Madubuike, Blacklock, Davis
82 1-tech Fotu
113 Edge Greenard, Taylor, Willikes, Zuniga
126 TE Bryant, Asiasi, Deguara, Breeland etc
147 WR Jennings, Pochie, Johnson, Davis, Mack etc.

I would then use that 5th rd comp to trade back multiple times accumulating 7th rd picks to add to the one we already have and revamp the special teams and depth. LB's , Cb's, K, P, etc.

I don't think we even need a WR so pick 147 could be used to combine with 113 to move up and have more options at Edge or with pick 126 to move up for moe options at TE

I think this year they should consider trading up a few spots. If Kinlaw is there at 12, I would give the Raiders a call and see what they want for their pick. Kinlaw will not get past the Colts and Bucs at 13 and 14. If Kinlaw is gone already, then I'd like to see who is on the board before I trade out of 17 all the way down to 30.

I have a feeling the Eagles are going to trade up ahead of us. I can smell it already. The Cowboys should keep putting out fake info about wanting a CB. That should send the Eagles to the phones to trade up for sure. The more CBs and WRs that go early, they better chance Dallas has to get Kinlaw.

Last trade we made like that was 2013, and we got a 3rd rounder

It's a fair point, but the counterpoint is how that instance was more incompetence on the Cowboys fault than anything. Florida DT Sharif Floyd was their top guy on the board, but Rod Marinelli told them no, so they were desperate to bail out of that pick. Then again, looking at the history of it, I'd take the under on the proposed value; definitely a 3rd rounder and a day three pick.

To the OP's post, without knowing how free agency turns out, I'd also rather have the picks from a trade down than whatever player is going to be there at #17, but I think it's remarkably ambitious to assume those players are going to be available for those slots.

I should add that pick 30 is right ahead of SF. which is the other team interested in a 1st rd safety and SF is unlikely to jump up because they are short on picks.
