He's certainly a better coach than we had here the past decade.

Such compliments coming from the respected soul of someone like Andy Reid surely serve as poignant and valuable insights!

Yeah, Ted Thompson was the GM. Mike and he hit the outs when Ted wouldn't bring in the experienced players Mike wanted. Ted was sorta autonomous though; no owner to answer to.
Thanx for that.

We do not know enough about Mike yet.

But we will. Imagine if this hiring is indeed a management marriage for both guys.

That could be scary...like a football horror story named Jerrah and Jimster I

Like a sequel of Friday the 13th..yikes.

Spooky.

So far, the Dallas FO has been highly inclined to allow Big Mike the leeway he needs to build his staff. That's an encouraging sign for a FO that has been inclined to take hold of that responsibility in the past. Hopefully, they'll see fit to work admirably with MM to afford him what he requires.

I dunno. When you put it like that, it makes me think. If this team has any success, Uncle Jerry is going to want his share of the credit. He'll bore the football world to death with being the architectural genius that brought all this talent and this coaching staff together which enabled the team to achieve. And like everything Uncle Jerry does, he'll want his accomplishments to overshadow anything the coaches or team did on the field.

Jerry can't get out of his own way.

McCarthy is without a doubt, a significant upgrade to Jason Garrett.

how much of an upgrade remains to be seen but it isn’t close.
Won't be able to tell with so many new additions about to join the team.
Offense... should be able to see something.
Defense... oy. We'll see what happens. So many new faces and movements along with scheme changes.
Same with Special Teams, but I expect significant improvement there.

Complete and total fluff.

I have no idea why someone would ask Reid that without a clear idea they were going to make it into a narrative.

As long as he's not meedeyoker that's all I ask. (swear I didn't make that up)

The numbers are there.

13 years as a head coach, 9 playoff appearances (69.2%), 10 playoff victories, 1 Super Bowl, 6 division championships. That ranks up there among the best - it's better than Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin, Jon Gruden, and other peers.

The counter argument is that he did all of this because of Aaron Rodgers, which I don't buy.
