At some point, when youre studying 1 player, you either get it or you dont.
You dont have to be smart to play football, but it sure helps...
It is not about being smart or not. It's about understanding football and being able to break down plays, schemes, assignments, techniques, tendencies, ect... (Not to mention the guy is trying to explain a play to an audience that he does not know and may or may not have any understanding of film study)
Repetition helps with that (as with most things in life).
And despite all that, there are multiple kids that are drafted into the NFL and end up major busts every year.
I would hate to see the bust rate if people only looked at a play once or twice for each player without understanding anything I mentioned above. Even with an understanding, thing can be easily missed, even if they seem pretty obvious (see Reggie Bush and the massive holes he was given when he played at USC).
But what do I know? I am not a coach, a scout or played football beyond HS.
I'm just another idiot on the internet.
