It is a season removed, but the play of Crawford and Gregory sharing the RDE vs. New Orleans was very impressive. Definite risk that one or both will not be as effective in 2020. But if you swap Poe for Woods on run downs and McCoy for M Collins pass downs (and Crawford moving inside and Gregory to RDE), you can see what the FO envisions. Not saying I wouldn’t rather cut Crawford and sign Griffen, but remember, we have Griffen’s DC from last year on our staff this year. I’m sure he’s given his inside info on Griffen (and maybe his mental/emotional problems are not completely being him).

Ya, and its all on the Commish to approve,, his time frame,,, so he will drag it out as long as he possibly can.
All individuals need to do what they need to do so the Goodell can make a decision within 60 days of receiving the application. It is unknown how the Covid-19 situation will factor into this timeline though. In 2018, he sent his paperwork around May 18th and the decision was made July 17th.

60 days is the deadline, he has to make a ruling 60 days from the completion of the reinstatement application. Though the draft is going to come and go within that time frame, I don’t think it’ll change the BPA approach.

With this new CBA and the new... support on certain rules for certain things, it would be hypocritical to not reinstate this guy.

I'm exceedingly confident that he'll be on the team this coming year.

I’m not as confident due to the fact that he’s a Dallas Cowboy and there’s just something that tells me that Roger isn’t going to make this an easy process for Randy.

I understand your viewpoint. I think it's exaggerated, but I get it.
There has been clear shenanigans involving this team and Sauron.

I certainly hope I’m exaggerating and it’s a smooth transition back, I think he would be an upgrade over what we had at the RDE position last season.

Exactly! At the risk of triggering one or two posters who seem to LIVE to dispute conspiracy theories, I gotta say...it’s not hard to imagine the Commish being very casual about resolving this! It also wouldn’t surprise me to hear that some folks have/will casually hint that Goodell should let things play out, and not “rush to judgement”.

“...Wow, Roger...you really gonna let that pothead back in?? (chuckles)...”

I would feel better about this if Gregory were already re-instated. The longer he isn't, the more I hope we bring in someone either in FA or the draft.
Why?

It takes 60 days. There is nothing that can be done to speed that up.

And that's exactly where he should be lining up if they keep him - inside. But I have to wonder if he can now hold up that well to a double team coming off of double hip surgery at his age?

Because there's no guarantee he will be reinstated. Until it happens, we cannot assume or count on it happening.
Who's to say he won't fail another test? Same ole story, let him back in, fail a test, let him back in, fail a test.

I say it's like when you are deep sea fishing and the charter owner thinks you have a shark on your line, he just cuts the line and you lose your fish. No argument but you lose. The Cowboys just need to cut the line and be done. I know he can make a difference but I am tired of hearing about it and the only thing Gregory can commit to is smokin dope. Just my take.
