I think he can be a good rotational player for us. I do think that expectations might be a bit high, but he's a 5th round pick so anything we get from him is gravy.

He’s a guy who, if he’s going to be capable of making an impact, it’s going to jump out and be obvious from day one at camp. He probably won’t be more than a rotational player, but he is a bit of a wildcard that could be a real contributor.

Yes,, needs a year or two in the program to get stronger, bigger, to play at this level, but what he does bring right now is attitude and this defense desperately needs some of that.

Of the last three low risk/high reward picks (Jackson, Jelks, Anae) I have the highest hopes for Anae. Namely based on college production.

whether 4-3 or 3-4 alignment, i can see Anae and Jelks on the edge outside, whereas Joe jackson lack of edge burst and athleticism tends to show up
the further he is outside and more ground he has to cover in pursuit. Jackson would be better suited inside as a 3-4 end,.. or a nickel rusher DT in the 4-3 interior.

What’s his comparable? Is he like a Justin Babin? I don’t know too much about him.

I could see Jackson taking over Crawford's role next year.

Play the covered end in the base and move inside in nickel.

I would bet he gets good writeups in camp and then kills 3rd stringers in the early preseason games, just like he did in the Senior Bowl. I think we start getting "Why isn't Anae starting?" threads around the middle of preseason.

I think you’re right. Should hold off on the anointing oil just yet. He’ll be Rotational this year. Maybe next year we can talk about him starting or record breaking sacks lol

I think him and Joe Jack are gonna be excellent rotational pieces that can give great production and allow us tk move on from Crawford’s contract

joe jack I think is big enough to rush at DE but heavy enough to be push inside when need be...

I could totally see that.

There will of course be the posts about Tyron Smith rag dolling him in practice.

But Tyron does that to every DE.
