You obviously don't have to say, but I'm curious why you view the team as worse than last season.
Change. Usually in the nfl the teams with the coaching change get a bump in confidence and play well. This is not a normal offseason and then you throw in the qb situation.
Learning a new defense and maybe a variation on the offense we have been playing even though the terminology will stay the same. I think both of these things can be speed bumps this year.
I do not think the defense is good. Plain and simple. It's not good. I think Nolan is going to be aggressive and gamble and this defense is going to be boom or bust and I think it will be a bust.
Pressure. If there is a camp and a season, by the time the local media and fans are done hyping this team up it will be just like last year where they were laughably saying the team is better than any Dallas team since the super bowl.
McCarthy has created a situation for himself here already that is going to be difficult to manage with Aldon Smith, throw in the QB issue.
and finally I think there is a chance the offensive line could struggle a little bit more than we are used to seeing. New coach, possible new technique to learn. Williams had a serious injury late last year, frederick retired and Tyron Smith has to be managed through the season to play 16 games. Just seems like a situation that is not going to be as good as what we have been used to. Frederick dipped last year and it was obvious in a number of situations.
Not sure there will be a season anyway.
EDIT: also there is a good chance Dak will screwup the coin toss each week and we will allow our opponents to have the ball at the start of both the 1st and 3rd quarters.
