Just another butthurt Romoholic making excuses for Romo while bashing Dak.

FACT: Romo was a part of a 2007 team that had a franchise record 13 players make the Pro Bowl. Other years Romo was surrounded with adequate amounts of Pro Bowl players: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2014.

Most of those teams were average facts again but fun to pretend huh

Facts average or below oline, rbs and defenses almost all those years ya they were stacked bro

Just a reminder for all you grassy knoll theorists...or just into reinforcing agendas. This
OP just targeted special skill combinations upon teams that produced the strongest results for the Cowboys.

This targets offensive productions as to top levels for the Dallas Cowboys...it stands upon it's own merit of acknowledging strong levels of offensive production.

Quit crying about past to present agendas or emotions, and see who actually accomplished what on the offensive side of the ball.

That degree of accomplishments stands upon it's own merits. Quit insulting the team for lack of a Lombardi. Some comparable levels were accomplished by Dallas teams entering the Championship or Super Bowl years. Snipe or assassination drills miss the objectivity of the OP.

This year is further projected from these projections, and constructive on it's own set of legs...it's really not about how many beers one had to consume from disappointment.

Looking back at the video, I have no idea why Crayton even thought about pulling up on that route. He had beaten the corner and there was no way the safety was going to get over in time to help. You've got to take that to the end zone not sit down that route there.
Romo's fault there was not getting mad and throwing his wr under the bus. He always took blame right or wrong and the media and fans went with it.

This is the same game crayton dropped the first down in his hands right?

Reading this article reconfirmed what most of us already knew. Since Parcells left, the only way we had good seasons was to have tremendous talent. Then we go into the playoffs and face teams with equal talent and more innovative coaching and we dont stand a chance.
We havent had an innovative DC since Wade left and we havent an innovative HC since Parcells retired.
It's why we always have free agents leave us at the end of each year like we were Super Bowl champs, even though we havent gotten out of the divisional round since the 90s.

In 2008, Demarcus Ware set the single season sack record at 20 sacks.

Yeah, I never got this.

Romo had this reputation for choking in the playoffs. I mean, he did drop that snap against the Seahawks that he never should've taken.

But None of those losses outside of that were really on him. Even in that situation, the Cowboys weren't even IN that game vs Seattle if it wasn't for Romo.

I'm not saying the dude didn't lose a few games. He did. But honestly, so did Aikman in the post Irvin world.
Just for reference
Dallas has played in 10 playoff games where they fell behind by 2 TDs.
The only won 1 of those games and Romo was the QB when they did it.

His special teams blunder in 2006 still kills me. But , oh well. As a QB, he did his job on that drive.

Faded late in 2007 too
Wasn't pretty and a sign of an agi g team, fading late like that. Romo did his part too.

2009 they closed with a nice division clinching win and playoff win
But they got outclassed in Minnesota

Next decent team wasn't until 2014
I consider that team similar to what we've had from 2016-2019...but this years look better than anything since 2007.

Time go deep in the playoffs
Go Dak

Romo and Owens were injured in december of 07. It affected them. Romo hurt his thumb on his first pass play vs the eagles which would have been a 75 yard td. Romo's hand hit an eagles linemans helmet on the follow through and the throw was off and his thumb injured. He played the rest of the game but couldn't hold the ball right and you could see it. The following week at carolina he was throwing with four fingers and played decently unfortunately owens got his ankle injured while being tackled near the goal line.

that same game in carolina andre gurode and chris canty were injured also.

The team was good enough to win a superbowl from 06-09 imo. Something always happened. The 07 playoff game has so many moments that went against Dallas. Some were their own mistakes and others were the officials incorrectly penalizing them. Ware was not offsides on the opening drive, that led to 7 points. Romo did not intentionally ground the ball causing them to go from 2nd and 10 to 20. killing that drive.

and for all the warts of the game if Crayton had seen it earlier and come out of his dig route he catches a perfectly thrown ball to have an all time play in cowboys post season history.

Dallas had beaten the giants 3 straight times going into that game, they beat them again when they played in 08 when Romo was back...the final win ever at Texas Stadium. Its a shame what happened. at 14-7 the special teams allowed the giants back in the game and then jacques reeves committed a personal foul allowing them enough time to throw to the end zone and of course they score to tie the game which completely changed the mindset of the giants and the environment. After that 90 yard drive and score if Dallas just kicks off and the giants run out the clock to go to the half I am not sure Dallas does not win by 10 points.

Oh well. Same thing in 09. They were rolling after the saints win. The defense was the best one Romo and wade had and it was playing fantastic. They ran into a buzzsaw in minnesota though. The vikings had won like 12 or 13 straight home games and their defensive live much like the giants in 07 was a bad matchup for bigger slower offensive line. That gerald sensebaugh play where he gave up the TD is still maybe the worst Defensive play I have ever seen. He was jogging and didnt even act like he knew the ball was thrown.

The 08 season went off the rails because they brought in malcontents like pacman and then Owens started barking about net getting the ball and accused witten and romo of being against the black players which is still bizarre to this day. That season was doomed. After the Commanders loss where they never ran the ball it seemed the season was set to crash and burn.

Still I love the 06,07,09 teams and those seasons as painful as they were and I contend Dallas would have beaten the packers handily at Texas Stadium in the 07 nfc championship game had crayton made the play. The energy they would have had and the upbeat confidence would have made them great the next week. Not sure they ever stop the pats offense the way the giants did though.

oh well. It's over now and we currently cant beat the eagles who were hopping on one foot with two hands tied behind their back in an important game.

for fun too if you want to see bad qb play and bad offense go watch the 98 and 99 wild card games. Aikman and the offense were awful. Aikman won one road playoff game in his career. which I think is still the most shocking thing about the cowboys playoff drought if you will, they haven't won a playoff game on the road since the 92 nfc championship. That seems inconceivable.

The fans did all the Pro Bowl voting by midseason and so many Cowboys undeservedly got voted in that 2007 year due a fast start and all the hype.

Marion Barber was 18th in the league in rushing yet made the Pro Bowl.
I wonder if that has ever happened before or since.
Love the guy, but he was no Zeke by a long shot.

Well balanced team though, but overhyped
Barber did his damage not starting games.....and had 10 touchdowns and 1k rushing yards off the bench......he was deserving. He was a beast.

Except for 2009 (which was a top 10 D) each of the last 4 years defenses, 2016-2019, were all better than anything Romo played with.
True. NFL website posts the rankings backwards . I was thinking as I said it, that 09' was a decent year defensively.
