This has seemed to be the mindset that Dak has had from the get-go when it comes to a new contract that has been annoying. Entitlement.... Cowboys dont owe him for what he didnt do in college to get drafted higher, nor would he be getting a 2nd contract in this range had he not played as much as he did. Most 4th round QBs will never sign a 2nd contract that averages 30-34 million a year and he acts like its not enough...
Most 4th round quarterbacks aren’t as good as Dak either.

Dumb. It's a set contract for a 4th round draft pick. From a QB to a Punter, that deal is what it is for any position.

Just because his position is the highest AAV for 2nd and 3rd future contracts the Cowboys don't owe him more than what he is worth.

Michael wouldn't say this unless the sentiment was already prevailing amongst past and current players.

This is a new Era!!

There are bigger things than Football going on.

NFL teams that don't aggressively act like they know and recognize the new normal will lose not only $$$ but a significant size of fanbase..

I don’t fault Dak for his contract demands. He has every right to get everything he can. On the flip side, there’s no such thing as backpay. He agreed to the contract when he entered the draft.
I agree Prescott wants to earn as much as he can like most people would. I have no issue with that. It just doesn't have to be the Cowboys. Or sign him to a long term deal then trade him to the Jaguars. Send a message out to other players you can get your money but if you want top dollar you can earn it at a **** franchise.

There is no such thing as back pay. You sign a contract when you come in to the league. You play on the your rookie contract. If you are decent/good/great/etc. you are then offered a second contract. That is your chance to make a lot of money. Dak is no different. If he doesn't like, blame people like Jamarcus Russell who got mega contracts before ever doing anything and then proceeding to do nothing. That's why they brought about a rookie pay scale.

I'm all for Dak being our QB, but he is owed NOTHING for what he did before. This future contract is about what he -can- do for the team. He signed a contract, both sides fulfilled that contract.

People saying he is owed back pay are crazy.

Dak owes us big time as we had to overpay for Zeke and Coop due to his ineptness and need to be carried.
Cost us a no 1 pick also.
His 15min are almost up good riddance and GL on the future bench that awaits him!

Michael Irvin says Cowboys owe Dak Prescott 'back pay' for 'stealing' four years of his career

In other words, Irvin is firmly of the belief that Dallas needs to pony up the dough.

I like Mike but the Cowboys didn't "steal" anything and paying guys for what they've done in the past is a great way to mess up your cap. Jerry learned that the hard way.

Dak is going to make at least $30 million this season, one way or another.

This is right up there with Irvin seducing everyone for weeks on his radio show over what a model citizen Pac Man was and how he had changed and would be great in Dallas.

Based on this logic, teams should be able to recoop money from draft busts. Tell Tristen Hill and Taco to send their money to Dak.

and tell Marinelli to chip in cause it was his fault we drafted them.

He's absolutely right.
You got a massive bargain and milked that bargain to the end of the runway so now you gotta pay for gas on the tarmac and that costs more.

Seattle had to do the same thing with Russ. We know what this looks like because it has happened before. Apparently everyone but Stephen Jones got the memo.
