It stinks for sure. Tony was on some subpar teams.

As an example, Tony NEVER had a defense that would hold the patriots to fewer than 17 points.

Eli was a no- brainer. Despite the criticism he took on these forums he not only put up some fine career stats but he won a couple championships.
If we're making a list of all-time Giants and Dolphins quarterbacks, are you putting Marino third?

Eli's career numbers were garbage.

Anyone who watched these guys play (or anyone who can read stats) knows Romo was a much better QB than Eli.

But as they say... to the victor go the spoils.

The 2011 defense could have held the Patriots to 13 points if the offense could have run out the clock late in the 4th quarter instead of going 3 & out.

I’m not sold Romo was the better QB. He was a bigger playmaker at times. Durability and consistency matters too. Eli has pretty good record in 4th qtr too.

You do realize Romo has one of the highest 4th quarter QB ratings of all time right? Romo has him in both statistics and eye test. Eli was blessed with some great defenses. Not saying Eli was a horrible QB but IMHO never a better QB than Romo.

And probably enough to land him in the HOF. Not a 1st ballot but down the road. No other QB in this era from division can state as much.

Yes, the Giants took a gamble on Eli and won. At first Eli struggled and it looked like he might be a bust, but he came through for his team in the long run. He was a high quality quarterback and a champion.

There is an article on BTB discussing this.

In it it has Cousins, Prescott, Wentz, and Romo compared to Manning for the decade. If you take Prescott, Wentz, and Romo combined they had 75 losses. Manning had 74.

Manning leads in the major categories, but it's because he played the most games. If you average it out he is the worse of the five.

What it comes down to is the Super Bowl win accounts for 100% of the vote and nothing else.

Romo was a better QB. But if they are looking at the decade, it is hard to argue. But players around the QB matter. Eli threw up a hail mary in the SB and his WR made the play, Romo's didn't (he did but..). But in the end it is a results driven game, Eli has 2 SB. And I want to throw this in, I hate Eli, hated him at Ole Miss and hate him today (As a QB, don't know him personally).

You have to take Eli. Romo wouldn’t be behind Center half of the decade.
It’s hard for many of our fans to give credit to guys not wearing the star. Especially rivals. Eli Manning came up huge in the biggest games of his career. In the two SB games the giants win, Eli made plays in critical moments, without which the giants don’t win either of those SBs.

Romo was probably more talented than Eli but Tony didn’t come up as big for his team in the biggest moments. Fair or not, that’s the truth. I never liked Eli Manning but I can’t say that he wasn’t a more deserving QB to make this decade list. People are wearing fan glasses to say Romo was ahead of Eli in accomplishments. Not objectively true.

Please give examples of games where the rest of the team was playing great and Romo single handedly lost the game. The only one I can think of is against the Lions which I really wouldn't call a big game.

There are a lot more. For some weird reason, YouTube got rid of several lengthy videos that showed Romo's game costing interceptions and his total interceptions from 2011 - 2013. Obviously, many complained to get those video off.

This is a pretty sad troll, even considering how big of a troll the OP is. It must be a pretty slow day on Twitter to not be able to find some kind of Dak propaganda to spam. Instead we get this for the daily troll

There’s no controversy here, Eli is the easy choice. Romo never took a meaningful snap beyond 2014 and shouldn’t even qualify for consideration. Manning’s career spanned the entire decade, even if he was pretty rotten for a lot of it. And it was definitely not a decade of great QB stability for the Skins or Eagles.

America's Cowboy pretends to start a thread about the injustice Romo is not the decade QB.

But after a couple of post his true agenda is revealed. Any positive Romo post must be met with negative ones. Just like Prescott threads, but reversed.

Would love to see Romo with this new coaching staff/Oline & WR's.

No he didn't. Manningham & Tyree are the ones that "got it done".

Manning got the ball to Tyree, didn't he? He knew he had to do something or they would lose, and he knew that receiver and believed he could make the catch. Seems to me Eli deserves to share the credit. And that's normal. It's always a team win.

We all know Romo was the better QB but Eli got it done lucky or not and won SB. I can't argue with ESPN on this one.
No he didn't. Manningham's sideline catch Super Bowl XLVI
& Tyree's helmet catch in SB XLII. Without those spectacular catches, Eli has no rings. Each one of those receivers should have received MVP, not Eli.

The Manningham catch was a perfect throw.

The Tyree helmet catch was one too that was on target after Manning escaped what should have been a sack. That's the very definition of getting it done. In what universe is it not?

You are right. Too many fans this generation despise players from other and rival teams.

I’m not sure I’d agree Romo was more talented. Eli was an early 1st round pick. Boodles of talent. Romo was an over achiever .

I’m not sure why fans don’t hold our competitors in higher esteem?

Some of my favorite players to watch haven’t been on the Cowboys. It would be pretty boring in sports to only watch my favorite team.

A previous poster asked for evidence. I supplied it.
