IMHO, any receiver who wears #88 for DC must accept the fact that there’s a heritage of greatness associated with that number.

That Lamb appears to understand this indicates he will be highly motivated to excel.

His comments in his recent interviews seems to indicate that which I’m cool with. He seems to be taking on the challenge of continuing the legacy.

That’s much better in my mind than your owner making an onerous request to wear a number to honor his dead buddy.

I'd rather have them retire 88, or only allow it *after* a player *earns* it by being named All Pro.

Handing it to Dez was wrong, and I said so at the time. Arguably one of Dez's problems was being anointed into the company of Pearson and Irvin, like his gold jacket was inevitable.

Best thing would be for CD himself to say he won't take #88 until he's named All Pro. A WR with some humility. Wouldn't that be refreshing?
I agree, and it is too soon for another 88. cd wanted to wear # 10.
I think he should make his own history with that number.
making him wear 88 is kinda boring and it just seems off.

I like him wearing #88. Apparently he has an outstanding work ethic already and this can only allow him to practice his trade even more.
Rock your poll as is , is confusing lol does yes mean 88 or 10??
you should redo it in a more clear fashion and have mod delete this one.

Well it is better now rock, but seems no one cares or they dont know it is fixed with same title.
I know it will just seem odd to have another 88 this soon after dez, speaking of him I wonder how he feels about it.
I would be more inclined to buy a jersey if it was 10 , but probably not at all with the 88.

Also wonder how cooper feels since he was not asked to wear 88 lol , your not as good as my new toy says jerry lol.
Way to motivate jerry!

He should wear 88 to honor all of the previous Cowboys who wore that number like Ron Sellers, Sony Davis and Colin Ridgway.

So, the question was changed so I had to change my answer. It makes no difference to me which of those numbers he is wearing. I just care if he can catch and get YAC and never fumble.

I dont like it not because of any "respect" nonsense but its just been there done that to me, I already have Pearson and Irvin in my head for 88 , lets try to immortalize as many different numbers in the pantheons of Cowboy history as we can
we have 33, 22 8, 12, 9, 74, 54, 88
lets get some more new numbers in that hall (not to get ahead of things)

I think he listened to Jerry telling his hard luck story about his good buddy and decided to humor the poor guy! I could be wrong, tho! o_O

I liked #10 on him better but what ever...That's a lot of pressure on the young man.
