I realise that Dak was a rookie.. but it was widely reported that he told Carrot that if he was staying as starter then he didn't want Romo taking snaps at practise. so I don't know.. I'm just saying the dude has never, ever had to compete for his job.

the coaches decision to not allow Romo to compete for the job. They made the dumb decision to start Dak in the first place and the competition would have taken snaps say from Dak and changed the rhythm of the offense. Linehan basically said its impossible at this stage to compete for the job back without taking snaps away.

basically what happened is somebody made a decision to continue with Dak.. Even though Romo wanted a chance to win the job back, according to Linehan it was impossible.

I’m not sure where some are getting this July 25th date from — a player who is offered the franchise tag MUST sign a new / long term deal by July 15th — if they do not then a new deal can not be negotiated or signed until after the season .

Math. It hurts the brain.

Im sure they plan to keep him.
But by him signing the tender, he now becomes eligible to be traded.
That happened to 3 franchise tagged players just last year..
J Clowney
F Clark
D Ford

Dont expect it to happen, but it now becomes an option.

How boring..... Now Jerry is going to have to create drama somewhere else. Any hoot. The price is right. Win a Super Bowl boys.

Don't worry, there's going to be plenty of drama coming up with Jerry in the next few months - more than he could've ever imagined.

Actually i know it's the 15th too i think i was just responding to the poster and used the date he used (was probably a typo on his part), at any rate thanks though for pointing it out.

All you have proven is that you are an illiterate troll.
DeMarcus Lawrence did not HAVE to sign the tender in order to be able to negotiate a longer contract. The other troll on this thread said that Dak HAD to sign the tender in order to be able to negotiate a longer contract.
Crawl back under your rock now troll. Learn to read before you butt in when your betters are talking.
I like this version of @Super_Kazuya better. At least back then he had balls....no he's left arguing the relevance of Dak signing his tag....Dak signed tag to maintain leverage.. Demarcus didn't and threatened surgery...... different isn't it?
What happened to XFL again....

@Super_Kazuya Classic!! 11/28/2019
I would try to sell him to the XFL...

Failing that I would spend a mid round pick on a smart/heady QB, show him hours of video of Dak handing off to Zeke and throwing straight line passes to wide open guys, and run him out there for week 1 next year and save tens of millions.

That would go down as one of the worst trades in Cowboys history.

They will need something to discuss in tv land.
I predicted a rumor, not an actual trade.

I mean, if it were an actual trade, Jerry would need to sweeten the pot.
Might as well throw Xavier Woods in... lol

Whoever made that fatal decision drinks Blue Label Scotch and thinks he is a qualified football GM.
I wonder who that might be?

Yeah, I don't think so. I could be wrong so would love to see an article saying that.

Yeah you couldn’t answer the question either. Back under the rock you go troll.
I already did but I really like your questions @Super_Kazuya so I've found a couple more deep in the crates
Easter Egg Challenge October 25th....I am not surprised Dak Haters celebrate Easter in October.... probably celebrated Halloween on Father's Day....
We should hold an Easter Egg challenge to see if anyone can find a Dak play even remotely close to this where he has to evade, reset his feet and then deliver a ball that requires some loft and accuracy (not just a fly route). We may be here a while...

You must have been celebrating Easter in Oct 2018 because Dak did exactly what you said he couldn't do

1. Dak Evaded JJ Watt and pass rush

2. Dak scrambled and reset feet

3. Lofted an accurate pass to Tavon Austin whom wasn't on a fly route.

The internet lives forever Dak Haters lol

Lol. He was never holding out. He has no problem playing on the tag cause next year the market value will only go up...

Obviously Dak is still betting on himself, hoping to strike gold. But how much the market will increase for "Him" will pretty much depend on his performance this year. It'll be interesting to see how it works out.

All it will take is one preseason game to realize the Cowboys go nowhere without Dak.

Thinking that Dalton will resurrect the physical skills from his younger days as well as his poise during pressure situations lacks logic.

Sign him long term by the 15th or they messed up not trading him last season.

Its funny how the number of Dak threads/posts suddenly slowed in the past few days. Maybe this zone really is populated by Daks publicists?
