People complain about the period in between Aikman and Romo. I get it. But I live in Bills country, and they are still trying to replace Jim Kelly

I live in Florida, and it's been almost two decades and probably 18 QB's since Marino last played for the Phins.

Agreed, while it was painful at the time, it was only 5 1/2 years between the two. That is not an unreasonable time frame given most teams go through multiple QBs or settle on mediocrity in that period of time.

And they Jets are still trying to replace Testaverde lol
Ever notice how quarterback success only comes when a team has a real head coach?
It's no coincidence.
Joe Gibbs even made Jay Schroeder and Mark Rypien look like starters.

And honestly, it may not have been that long if the organization had not put itself in such a terrible cap situation, draft situation by simply trying to hold on too long. Giving bloated contracts to aging stars, making bad trades for players, in an attempt to provide weapons to a lack luster offense, just poor management moves. It is what it is.

If McCarthy can get this team fixed and go on a bit of run, the Romo era will not be treated well by history. Guy had one of the longest, least successful runs of any starting QB.

Same here, live in Florida. My family are all fins fans and they have been searching forever so they say. Had tannehill and let him go and now he just signed a huge contract and made the playoffs. Lol. Maybe it’s not your QB.

if we can get dak to beat an average to good defense we might get somewhere. "if" or hope he gets hurt and dalton takes us to the Superbowl and wins it all.

lol, I was literally going to post the same thing. If McCarthy is the one who fixes it, shouldn’t it be the Garrett era that isn’t treated well? We need smarter trolls here.
Yeah, I almost said more. I suspect the irony of his post escapes him.

The thread title should be this.

How the Cowboys rank in terms of quarterback play in the Super Bowl era

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...rms-of-quarterback-play-in-the-super-bowl-era
Although Pro Bowl are a terrible indicator--especially for QBs (see 2018 Pro Bowler Mitch Trubisky) I think they may've given us more than we really got.
Not that it matters

Now All-Pro is a totally different level (only 2 in the entire league make it)

I think the Pro Bowls are:

6--Staubach, (Plus 1 All-Pro)
6--Aikman
4--Romo, (Plus 1 All-Pro)
3--Merideth, (Plus 1 All Pro)
2--Prescott
1--White

The hate runs deep in this one.

Hate?

You know the saying “don’t hate the mirror because you are ugly...”?

I don’t hate Romo at all. Good player but he won nothing in over a decade. It’s a fact. Biggest game of his life and he takes off to Mexico to rattle the bed posts with Jessica Simpson. Now I don’t blame him for that but he could have done that any old time. I am considering doing a analysis of QBs with over 100 starts and playoff experience. I suspect Romo is going to look like crap. Guy lead a ten plus year run of mediocrity.

The fact that went to straight to a brain dead idea like Cabo mattered ...at all...speaks volumes. I hope you reserve those feeling for Witten too then.
Two week off, facilities closed, told to get out away from it all to reboot by the coaching staff. Goes for a few days with his girlfriend--who complains all he did was talk football with Witten. Meanwhile half the team his hitting strip bars, going to Vegas or Miami, etc....but somehow Cabo is only thing mentioned. All back for a full week of practice before the game too.

You are consistently making disparaging comments about Tony...and often unrelated to the thread.

I liked Tony. Just honest about his lack of success. I am sure he appreciates your slobbering admiration.
