It adds on to his current contract, so that's as 12 year total contract per Schefter.

The numbers will be interesting.

VERY team friendly

Several were saying 5 years, 45-50 mil, then go back for more after 4-5 years.
But not even close.
NFL’s best QB giving his team plenty of wiggle room vs squeezing them for every drop

Wasn't interested in these short term deal like some others. In the long run, this will be a steal for KC. Great for them.

Money is clearly not the top priority for Mahomes. Patrick clearly told his agent to take a hike and went 10 years. Good for him.

I'd be ecstatic if I were a Chiefs fan

They could really play with the cap numbers early on in the extension to allow the team to field a good team around Mahomes. Worry about the higher cap hits for the next GM lol

So Dak will want similar money but to totally ignore the number of years as irrelevant to him. I got to believe that those years on the back half are for ridiculous money which can be restructured as needed. No way he is agreeing to 10 years at a $ amount that will make him underpaid in 3.
