2016 Dak Prescott leads the Cowboys to their best record 13-3 his rookie year. In 4 years,

Just nitpicking here. But the Cowboys best record was 12-2. I believe Dandy Don and Roger Staubach did it. Dak tied Romo and Aikman for most wins in a season.

Meh , if jerry wants to sign him he will just transition tag or franchise him again then sign him after the season.

nothing is over except they dak now has to play wel to get a contract that he wants

Play better than last season? What somewhere around 6,000 yards passing?

Another genius, what a surprise. :muttley:

The Cowboys offered him over 100 million bleeping dollars guaranteed. Acting like Jerry isn't sure if he wants to sign him is moronic.

Dak wanted a SHORTER deal. Jerry wanted a longer one.

Oh come on Pappy. There wasn't one qb who didn't have 8-8 seasons under Garrett. o_O
You happy the last 3 seasons where we clearly underachieved?
Pappy ain't happy esp with all this talent we have on the squad.
What's been the main issue for our problems......not scoring points against good teams.
Now, who is primarily responsible on the offense for scoring points?
Here's a hint....its the player that wants to be the highest-paid on the team.

1983 Dallas Cowboys fail to make the trade for John Elway and let ex-Cowboys coach Dan Reeves have the QB. In 1986 the Cowboys did not recover following a season wrist injury to Danny White. The end.

1986 Dallas Cowboys get another bite at the QB apple when a freak QB athlete, named Reggie Collier, who the Cowboys drafted in the 1983 draft, came from the USFL collapse. He was never given a fair shot at the QB position and now Lamar Jackson is the proof to the NFL that Collier would have changed the Cowboys fortune and Tom Landry would have ushered in another innovation. The end.

1993 Jerry Jones fired a back to back Super Bowl winning Head Coach that built him the Dynasty of the 90's. In 3 years, Dynasty was cancelled. The end.

2006 Jerry Jones runs off Bill Parcells with the anointing of Tony Romo, and signing Team Obliterater (Terrell Owens). Parcells tells his young dynamic innovative OC to take the job in New Orleans, LA. Sean Payton leaves the year before Parcells leaves. This leads the Cowboys into the Jason Garrett coaching era. The end.

2016-2019 Jerry Jones gets a gift from the Cowboys gods after drafting Dak Prescott in the 4th round. Tony Romo has an early pre-season injury. 2016 Dak Prescott leads the Cowboys to their best record 13-3 his rookie year. In 4 years, Dak Prescott leads the Cowboys to 2 playoff appearances, wins rookie of the year, wins a playoff game, and makes the Pro Bowl 3 of 4 years never having a losing record. After the 2018 playoff run Jerry Dumbo GM Jones decides to not enter negotiations to extend Dak Prescott. 2019 ends and Jones uses the franchise tag on Prescott and they do not agree to a long term contract thus continuing the lame duck QB status of his team leading QB another season. The end.

As past performance may not be indicative of future results, I hope everyone knows how this is going to turn out. Especially when the past performance is by Jerry Dumbo GM Jones who fired Jimmy Johnson, ran off Bill Parcells, let Sean Payton go, wrecked what Parcells built, hired Jason Garrett before hiring a Head Coach, and has now has made the most important position on his football team a transitional flux again.

I am a long time Cowboys fan and this is another...the end.

facts are skewed by fan narratives, thats not the entire truth on any of the situations and now Daks John Elway..hope your hangover didnt hurt to awfully bad..

so Dak gets credit alone for 13-3? LMAO Garett and Zeke OL etc etc had nothing to do with it?

oh wait the 9-7 and 8-8 were everyone elses fault...so all wins are Dak all losses are coaching ST and Defense..right

If we are looing at record of team alone DAK HAS REGRESSED OFF A CLIFF SINCE 2016

It could be pending if we decide to move on from Dak without another Heir apparent franchise QB In place.

If nothing else a transition period.

You do realize you're speaking to the choir here, right? I was just nitpicking. I'm not all in on Dak. In fact, far from it at this point. I fully expect him to be playing for another team next season.

just adding my POV..it seems like everyone rips zeke, Lee, Tsmith, Fredbeard and others for not being their old selves, want to run Witten out of town, Hate for Dez etc

so take that away from them, yet Use Daks Wins record as a PAY Dak narrative, yes the losses especially the regression of the team from 13-3, 9-7, 10-6, and finally 8-8 somehow is everyione else's Loss record but win record is an excuse to pay dak.. if we go by wins since 2016 shouldnt that mean Garett should have stayed LOL im not saying that but logic of Wins in that same time period say well bring him back..:)

im on the fence , in the middle , I like dak but dont like he and his agent pushing a narrative like he deserves 35 over 4 years and wont budge on one iut if deal lie all the other deals that have been done here, his ego and greed is starting to become tiresome to me..I for one did not see this coming, the humble dak happy to be a DC, always talking about his Mom etc and all of sudden he thinks hes in league with Mahomes and Wilson etc..

we can win with Dak, sure but not him trying to squeeze the team for everything he can..

Can't disagree. You know it's bad when Jerry doesn't pay his star player. He caved to every player dispute and signed others not in dispute. All except Dak. Tagged him. If the salcap doesn't go up and Dak holds fast to his demands, he'll be playing for the Colts, Jags, or Bears in 2021.

I'd say "most visible" rather than "star" player.

Did you conveniently forget about Collier's severe substance abuse problems and crappy play? Man, you must be related to him or something. It's like you're the only NFL fan in history who was impressed by Collier.
No I did not. Yes he had a substance abuse issue at Birmingham and after he got misused in Dallas. However, he came to Dallas in 1986 clean and showed very well in training camp, preseason, and showed well when he was finally put into the game vs. Washington.

Lawrence Taylor was a coked up, weeded up, alcoholic Hall of Fame player. Michael Irvin was another coked up Hall of Fame player his entire career for the Cowboys. Jimi Hendrix was a functional drug attic that revolutionized electric guitar playing until this very day before choking on his own vomit. Willie Nelson and Snoop Dog are consider 2 of the greatest at the music they create in their field. The problem is when your off the field messes up your on the field performance. I am not justify drug use but addiction is not always the definition of all drug use. Brett Farve had to deal with his legal drug use becoming an addiction. At first, it was normal pain medication use. Then it became an addiction. He got clean.

What Landry did to Collier in the Bears game was incredulous. Collier after leading 2 late drives in Washington (putting up 14 points) started the game with the 2nd team OL and back up WRs vs. the 86 Bears. The 86 Bears creamed them. Landry then put in Pathetic Pelleur with 1st team players and he promptly turned the ball over. I knew then, it was going to be the end of Tom Landry and another...The End. The Landry preference for Pathetic Pelluer, treatment by fans in Dallas (see fans with Dak Prescott today) facilitated Collier's relapse. I have very good knowledge of the Collier situation. That is why I knew Quincy Carter would not work because he came to Dallas fresh off a drug test failure and Jerry drafted him in the 2nd round. That was not the case with Reggie Collier. In Landry's on words he put Collier as a starter to teach him a lesson and not to win the game...WTH? Landry played a game to teach a player a lesson instead of supporting the player and team to win the game...

Tony Dorsett talked about the issues in Dallas, how good Reggie Collier would have been in Dallas, and that Collier was not given a fair shot to develop into the Cowboys QB.

Finally, If I was the only one impressed by Reggie Collier, why was he the 3rd overall pick in the USFL 1983 draft, why did Bear Bryant (demi-god head coach), Bobbie Collins (SMU Pony Express and his Head Coach at So.Miss), and Gil Brandt signed his praises? Until Dallas, he always got to the starting line up and was the leader of his team? Do you know more about football than these Hall of Fame Coaches and talent evaluators? You have support and be in the right situation to be successful in football.

I just give you the facts you can look at it in any alternate reality you chose.
