I doubt it is truly official. He probably has a significant suspension headed his way, so he couldn't have played part or possibly all of this season had he wanted.

This is something like the 5th time he has "officially retired"... of course, there is no such thing as "officially retiring"..... if you announce you're retiring, you can always go back on that. If you fill out the retirement paperwork, you can always revoke it. Now with AB there's the added difficulty of impending suspensions, but that's beside the point.

The free-agent receiver, who two days ago suggested on Twitter he was retiring -- for the umpteenth time -- indicated on Instagram he wants to continue playing and called for the NFL to conclude its personal conduct investigations.

There couldn’t have been much interest by them or he wouldn’t be retiring. AB’s next venture could be writing a book on how to ruin what had been a great career.
