Among the agreements by NFL teams approved by the players, sources told ESPN:
  • The 80-man roster deadline is Aug. 16, before padded practice, but teams can have 90-man rosters if they go with a split-squad setup. Some teams have plans to split squads and use stadium and regular practice facilities.
  • The salary cap remains the same for 2020 at $198.2 million per team, and there is a cap floor of $175 million in 2021 with the possibility of it being higher based on revenue streams.
  • The loss of any potential revenue will be spread out over the next four years, through 2024.
  • There will be a fund established to pay back any benefits eliminated as a result of COVID-19 up to 2023, as well as paying back any lost guaranteed money to players.
  • NFL players considered high risk to COVID-19 can earn $350,000 and an accrued NFL season if they choose to opt out of the 2020 season. Players without risk can earn $150,000 for opting out.
  • Players who make a team's cut get a $300,000 stipend if the season is canceled and no games are played. If a season is canceled before the cut-down date, players who were on a team in 2019 get $250,000.
Players will have seven days from the time the agreement officially is signed, likely on Monday, to make a decision about whether to opt out for this season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Based on the proposal, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano, the training camp acclimation schedule will start with four days of COVID-19 testing and then two days of physicals. Days 7-14 will cover strength and conditioning work only and days 15-20 will involve practices in helmets and shells with no pads, the source says.

A maximum of 14 padded practices may be held, but none before Aug. 17. Additionally, there will be one off day per every seven days of work, the source told Graziano.

If there is no season, what happens to the players’ salaries? Do they get paid the whole amount or some minimal amount?

If the cap is $175M next year, that is going to be some major pain for teams, I guess.

This is a mistake. Proven RBs on their rookie deals should opt out as a matter of course if they're still going to get their accrued season. One less year of damage to their bodies when they negotiate their first free agent contract.

Maybe other positions will do this too. Think of guys in their contract years. They can teleport to free agency.

What about the cutdown dates? I know Aug 16 is cutdown to 80 or 90 depending on split squad practices, but when are the other cutdown dates? Also, can teams protect any practice squad members from being picked up by another team to compensate for the lack of evaluation time?

Cap stays same for this year. Drops to no lower than 175MM in 2021. Could be higher if revenue drop isn’t as bad as projected.

Over the Cap projected 2021 cap space and we have just over 2MM in space....... without Dak.

Cowboys will have to get creative next year. Some big names could be jettisoned.

It feels like it’s going to force them to sign a long term deal with Dak or let him walk.

if the cap is really 175. If they resign him they can structure it so the first year is a low cap hit.

But finding space for 37 mil is gonna be tough.

Restructuring cooper saves 14 million, Lawrence and Martin save another 20. I read with the cowboys top 7 contracts , cowboys can save up to 60 million. Eagles on the other hand..there cap is bad
