Randy White is my all time favorite Cowboy. Maybe because we played the same position, maybe because I used to take a pinch between my cheek and gums, maybe because he was just cool dude. Who's your favorite and why?
Can’t just pick one. My first Cowboys hero was the great “Bullet” Bob Hayes, who I was lucky enough as a kid to see play in person at the Cotton Bowl and atTexas Stadium. When he first broke into the NFL, he was literally unstoppable. He’s the fastest, most exciting player I’ve ever seen play in person.

Second was Roger. He was all about leadership, character, the absolute will to win to the last second. I could go on and on.

A more recent favorite is Tyron Smith. In my mind he was headed to the HOF before his back and other nagging injuries slowed him. At his peak, he was the most dominant OL in the NFL. I also greatly admire Dak because of what he’s overcome to be an NFL Star. And...he is one of the few NFL players who has a masters degree.

Erik Williams.............Was the most talented and meanest offensive lineman in NFL history that I ever saw.........................He's the only individual I ever saw not only handle , but dominate Reggie White..................
Had lunch with him a few years back. He let me wear his SB ring. Great guy. I wear a size 15 ring and that thing was still big on me!!!

Which 88? Which 22?

I assume you are talking about Irving and Emmitt, which are the biggest names with those numbers, but there are some earlier Cowboys with those numbers that some could possibly view as favorites

Emmitt.
From living in Florida, and seeing and hearing about him in high school, then as he played for UF.
Though I was in South Florida, still heard about him when he played at Escambia High. Then a coworker, an UF Gator grad. As I like the Gators also.
Then all I said, somehow Dallas need to draft Emmitt, and was estatic when the did.

Then he became the all time leading rusher while helping the team to 3 SB wins.

He doesn't pass Roger for me, but Walt was one of my early favorites from when I started watching the Cowboys regularly about 50 years ago. Nobody played harder or was tougher.

Maybe if Roger would have been at that rodeo, taught me to throw a tight spiral and gave me a pinch of his Skoal, he would beat out Walt.

Tony Dorsett is my favorite, and the one who drew me to be a Cowboy fan. From his cool walk, to his great spin move to his acceleration to top speed in a blink, Dorsett was a breathtaking, outstanding player who captivated me as a kid, and just as much watching old footage.

I don't think it's a secret that Walt Garrison is my favorite. Met him at a rodeo in 71. He was a great guy. Gave me some rodeo tips and a dip of Skoal. Sorry, Walt. Copenhagen is better.

..."One of the more humorous sports quotes was attributed to Cowboy quarterback Don Meredith speaking about Garrison's dependability, "If it was third down, and you needed four yards, if you'd get the ball to Walt Garrison, he'd get you five. And if it was third down and you needed twenty yards, if you'd get the ball to Walt Garrison, by God, he'd get you five."... Wikipedia. I remember this quote as it was reported as well.

Gotta love Walt. Tough SOB plus he ask for and received a horse trailer as a signing bonus. One of many, many from the 70's who are deserving of personal favorite status.

Go Cowboys!
