Spinal surgery is a big deal in my book. He's one play away from retirement.

Yes, and that’s the real story here. He’s going to be the MIKE and Jaylon is moving over to the WILL. It makes a lot of sense for both.

LVE also talked again today about how this defense is different - how they’ll be disguising coverages, etc.

Well his surgery was minimally invasive so I assume they just went in and cleaned a few nreve inpingements out wo out needing fusion and plates and screws. If thats the case, then I would be optimistic long term. But I would expect a good linebacker to need a healthy neck for those charging hits and to expect that neck to be well tested..

Just as an FYI an ACDF (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion) is considered a minimally invasive procedure as well. Spagnola reported in December that was the procedure he was going to have.

His career maybe shortened by a year or so but he is young and ready. He has had this injury for a while and played with it. When he tweaked it again he went ahead and had it fixed.

LVE being healthy should help Jaylon, hopefully anyway, as he wasn’t very good last year. Hopefully they can return to 2018 form and be dominant.

One of the most surprising players I’ve seen in awhile. Yes he was a 1st round pick, but I didn’t realize he was this good, this soon. He was sorely missed last year even if Lee had a hell of a season.

I hope he stays healthy and we get to see his true potential. If he is he’s probably our best defensive player.

Actual practices start on the 17th. But I think they can have team drills, but no full or padded practices.
