Offenses are gonna have some problems for sure.this is the kind of mentor DLAW NEEDS. This guy is a leader IMO. Just watching what he said in this 26 sec. video clip. Looking at his production, and the fact he IS a force at DE. You dont see him on twitter pushing his own line of merch. Its all about results with him. This is why MM and the defensive coaches pounded the table for him. They know what he brings. Maybe this will be motivational for Dlaw as well...friendly team competition.
Probably but with all the reclamation projects and rookies they probably want to see what they have and if all the pieces work.He only has $1.1M of guaranteed money left in his deal. They might be able to get him down to 2-3M if they wanted, but I think they value him more than most fans do. I don't think he'd get more than 3M on the open market.
I'm in no hurry to get rid of him, unlike some others here. I see the point about his salary being higher than you would want for the statistical production he brings, but I think we missed his presence last year greatly. He can win one-on-one matchups with interior blockers consistently and is a great depth piece/borderline starter.Probably but with all the reclamation projects and rookies they probably want to see what they have and if all the pieces work.
I agree his flexibility last year was missing. His contract is what it is, what we think and value is different than the powers that be. We are sitting on couches hemming and hawing, while the FO has a better idea of whats going on, regardless of what you think about the FO.I'm in no hurry to get rid of him, unlike some others here. Will you look at that.

Are you in the FO? So it is what it is you can scream what you want whenever you want but unless you have job in the FO why worry about it.Where? At RDE, where Quinn led the team with 11.5 sacks? Crawford hasn't had that many sacks from that spot in the last four years.
And I didn't miss getting bashed in the run game with Crawford out there either. Like when Saquon Barkley was breaking off huge runs, or when the Rams put up 273 yards rushing in the playoffs.
"It is what it is". The ultimate, white-flag, I have no excuse comment.

Crawford is an average DE always has been. But him missing last year meant too many snaps for the likes of Collins and Hill and others. Peoples fixation on his contract when this board as a collective do not have the power to move that needle is what my comment was about.
Crawford has zero guaranteed money remaining. He only has $1.1M of guaranteed money left in his deal. They might be able to get him down to 2-3M if they wanted, but I think they value him more than most fans do. I don't think he'd get more than 3M on the open market.
Still can't believe they pulled the trigger on Griffen.
Fair enough, I was equating guaranteed money and cap charge, understandably there is a difference.@GhostOfPelluer said:

For 2020 he gets 8M if he stays and zero is he is cut.
There is a cap charge remaining from money that he has already been paid but that the Cowboys have not charged to the cap. That money hits the cap with or without him on the team. It is completely irrelevant to the decision to keep or cut him.
Aldon Smith has no guaranteed money. This move just as likely can be seen as Smith insurance.
