Just wondering if anyone knows much about either player. Both have some pretty impressive stats ( see below). I admit I have no idea if they would our scheme but both are available and have tons of starting experience.
  • ALEC OGLETREELB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

Free agent Alec Ogletree worked out for the Bears.
It's the first we've heard on Ogletree since his February release. Ogletree never lived up to his Giants contract, but it's surprising there hasn't been more interest. 28-year-old Ogletree has started every game he's appeared in. Chicago also worked out free agents Devante Bond and Gabe Sewell.
SEP 10 2020Signed to the practice squad by New York (NYJ)

TODD DAVISLB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

Broncos released ILB Todd Davis.

https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/2328/todd-davis/stats

Davis started 59 games for Denver over the last four seasons but was entering the final year of his contract and suffered a calf injury during camp. His release saves the Broncos $4.5 million against the cap. Davis was Pro Football Focus' No. 20 off-ball linebacker out of 57 qualifiers who played at least 50% of the snaps last season, seeing positive marks for his run defense. The 28-year-old should get another chance elsewhere. This was probably more about money. Denver has Mark Barron, Alexander Johnson, Joe Jones, and newly-acquired Austin Calitro as options at the position.

I like Ogletree and feel he would upgrade our current linebacker group. I think we need a vet in there rather than trusting rookies.

I mentioned Todd Davis on another thread and was laughed at. The guy is good.
Nobody's laughing now my friend.
Solid players. I’d sign both of em.
I'm with you on this one. DAL needs both, but probably can't afford both.

I remember Ogletree was good in coverage and can get sideline to sideline with his speed. Don't know much about Davis, but if he started on that DEN defense for 4 straight years it's good enough for here.

This is why I don't like keeping guys like Lee n Gifford cause they're in the training room when you need them.

My opinion is anyone would be better than Smith. Literally anyone.

I, as many here have been pulling for J Smith. And although it's was only the first game of a long season, he looked very much like he did at the end of last season. Flying around out of position and ending up on the ground.
