Well after last week end Dak has 2 Game Day Jerseys in the HOF....

Keep Digging....the chickens are coming home to roost lol

Cool stuff.
We hit a home run with the 2016 draft.

But there are a bunch of QBs who had over 1000 yards their first 5 starts....or even 1st 5 appearances (so including only partial games as full games)
Next Gen got that one wrong.

Not sure about the 500 rushing. That's much more significant, as its a 1600 yard season pace.

Maybe I'm reading it worng.. They mean it as a pair at the same time? Ah, makes sense.

If I'm not mistaken it wasn't a single record. They aren't saying it right on the tweet but it was Dak and Zeke were the first rookie tandem QB and RB to throw for 1k yards and 500 rushing yards. Its a tandem stat if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. I finally figured that out. Duh, on my part.

Yeah I mean its a cool feat and stat...I think the real test was that its rare to even have a QB and RB rookie tandem. I think the one before them might've been RGIII and Alfred if I'm not mistaken. They killed it that year I'm shocked they didn't do it first.

I'd love it if it were true
But it's not
It fake news

It really should be illegal for people like NextGen and PFF to post false data, but it's not life and death so...no big deal

Patrick Mahomes had close to 1500 yards his first 5 games

Desean Watson had 1072 in his first 5 games

Romo even exceeded 1000 yards in just his first 4 full games, let alone 5.
And if you want to count his couple of snaps in his first game to make it 5, well, it's still over 1000
It’s not fake news. They were the first. A simple google search would help you

Reminds me of Romos 6 turnovers including 2 pick sixes only to come storming back to win in dramatic fashion over the lowly Bills......and then to be named NFC player of the week.

He created a tragedy, like Dak did, and then made a huge comeback against a crappy defense. Hoorah!

Are these pathetic victories what this fan base has been reduced to? It’s like a cat chasing a flashlight on a wall. Come playoff time all the rhetoric ends.

Not looking to change anybody’s minds, but I remember when awards were deserved

:facepalm:The defense any team has now is not the same defense teams may have at the end of the year.

You think our defense will be good enough at the end of the year to make a Super Bowl run?

I think it’s certainly possible. LVE, Lee, Gregory, Brown coming back and the maturation off the young guys not to mention the players adjusting to the new scheme he’ll yes.

I like your optimism and hope you’re right.

You guys can pump him up all you want. I can't wait to bump these threads in 2-4 years.

Yes he is a average to good QB. He is not and never will be elite. He is in the top 15 of the league, more specifically, 10-25 in my expert opinion.

Bravo he came through one week when the falcons took the foot of the peddle just like the coach is known for doing. They played weak prevent and let him come back.

Bottom line, he is a middle tier QB and will never be worth $40 mill a year. He will have a good career in the NFL but he isn't someone I would want helming my team.

LOL. And what makes you an expert? Watching football on Sundays? The real experts disagree with you.

Amazing how people who are not fans of the Cowboys can name Dak player of the week and acknowledge he played great while many of our own can't.

Dak had one fumble. The other turnovers had nothing whatsoever to do with Dak. How did Dak "create a tragedy?" If committing one turnover in a game is "creating a tragedy," there's not a decent QB in the league.

We spotted them 17 points because of the Cowboys offensive turnovers......their offense didn’t have to do squat.

That’s exactly my point! The offense created this “ Historic Comeback” because of their ineptitude

It shouldn’t have been this close but the offense created this little melodrama and now gets an award for it.
While that's a valid point, it doesn't lessen the fact that Dak toughed out a win with excellent play after seemingly insurmountable setbacks.
