Are we ever going to see DAL have a RPO game plan?

Dak is a passing quarterback, not a running QB so why would we intentionally try to get him hurt? He's also an up tempo QB as well, just run the hurry up and unleash him.

The ability to run is implied. Otherwise, it's just a play action built in as an option, but it's not that effective if you're not a running threat. Dak isn't any better than an average QB in that regard.

Average from the pocket and average runner. Wilson, on the other hand, is elite at both.

Dak is a very good running qb. Teams know this too. Maybe not as good as RW but few are.

Why do people continue talking about Dak running in a thread about the RPO?

RPO is like anything else in the NFL. The more you run it the more film the guys who spend 80 hours a week trying to stop it get to see it. While I would love to see Dak run 6-7 designed runs a game in addition to maybe 3-4 scrambles for first downs, I have no desire to see us turn into some *******ized version of the wishbone. Dak is too good a passer and we have too many good receivers to run that offense.
Agreed. I'm not saying run it for consecutive games because the opposition will get wise to it, but let's smack one opponent with it.

Let me others have said in here, it may just be a matter of time.

might want to start your list with

Jackson
Murray
Cam
Allen
than Wilson and maybe

next
Dak
Taylor
and can we count that saints backup guy?

when you are talking running qbs

first off this thread should be saved years end and judge the lack of whatever ot is you wanted to see.. Daks not a run first QB or one that wants to take off, he wants to pass..

More rpos sure game plans heavy in RPO might be needed but we have 2 starting WRs and can pass..we dont need a heavy dose of RPOs in a lot of game plans..
rather them be unexpected..

RPO is not a QB run play.
- The QB has the option to hand off to the RB or pass.

The Read Option is a QB run play.
- The QB has the option to hand off to the RB or to run it himself.

Umm that obvious im saying no need for it in an offense where we can go down field more, rpos typically end in a shorter run by the WQB or RB and or short on the box type pass..

and? I rather line up in 3wr sets and use or WRs for what they do best,,

you want more RPOs trade AC and let Gallup go when his deals up RPO away LOL

im saying its useful but not need to do that like teams like NE are doing because they have limited talent at WR or TE right now the QB/RB and smaller window options are best...

What is WQB?

RPO is just a regular run play with with an option to pass.
- One or two receivers run routes usually on the opposite side of where the run would go (i.e. Those receivers would really need to run block anyway).

RPO is not a run by the QB.

the keyboard has a QW far to close lol accidental fat finger strike and no proof read lol

QB
IMHO last year Dak failed in those RPOS ran at the end of the MN game, he made the wrong decsions to where to go with the OPTION..
I like balance and creativity, like the surprise on the RPO use in the play calling instead of the OPs title having an entire GP made up of RPOs..

Can you describe one of the plays in that MN game that you're referencing? I don't remember.

What happened on the plays where he made the wrong decision on the option?

I am serious.

Watch his qb option plays. 50% of the time he makes the wrong decission. There is a reason we dont use that play more often.

People scream for the oc to use daks running ability more. They should better ask themself why now the 4th oc in his career still uses him the same way all others did.

Exactly.

They call what they think he can actually do.

We don't need to use a bunch of designed runs for dak but he should run when the opportunity strikes.

LA opened the season with an offense that the NFL and the Boys have never seen from Goff.

Why can't the Boy Genius call an RPO offense on an opponent?

The other team wouldn't know what him em!
Exactly right, getting to much heat in the pocket, make the D run.
