I'm beginning to wonder if La'el will ever be the same. Is it possible that car wreck did more damage than is being revealed? Whatever the case, it looks like we'll have to be patient with this thing 'til he's back to where he was, if ever. They say he's making progress, though. Really? Let's hope so.

Collins, J. Smith, Lawrence, T. Smith.........you are right in seeing a pattern with certain players on this team.

Maybe the FO needs to overcome their willingness to tolerate the unaccountability syndrome. It's been running rampant far too long.

If it starts to happen with the Pats, they're shown the door way earlier than later. Not with the Cowboys, though. We pamper our pets.

So where does this won't be ready comes from. Just a reporters conjecture?
He surly does not have inside info as to a "source" telling him this.

I will wait to see how it goes. If he misses, nothing we can do about it. I am not one to sit and whine and put down everything and a player since he is injured.

Dude should have just been one of the players that opt’d out of the season due to COVID concerns. SMH.

To say we need him back is an understatement.

These threads just show the way so many people see only the worst in fellow men.
A guy gets injured and suddenly so many are so quick to start attacking him and saying he is a lazy bum who doesn't care ect.

If we don't even have the ability to give the benefit of the doubt to our own team imagine how these folks view others in our world.

What has happened to us?

Really? seems he played pretty good last year after his payday.

It takes time to hit the skids -- it doesn't happen overnight. I'm all for La'el and others recovering, though. Let's hope they all do!

Collins will single handedly tank this season because he most likely thought there would not be a season and decided to not stay in shape.

Incredible

Yep, guy probably came in 40-50 pounds over weight. That's not something you can shed in a month.

If he did not show up in shape. He should not get paid. Watch how fast his lazy but gets back on the football field...

I can not believe anyone here ever thought this O-line was the great wall of dallas 2...not even close.

Good thing we have a couple of youngsters who didn't play all that badly.

Fans are unbelievable. How many times does it needed to be pointed out Collins has an injury.
MM himself said, it was not from a conditioning issues. And he was not 40 or 50 pounds over weight as I have seen posed. He is by no means lazy.

But yet post after post fans repeat the same old crap. Would hate to sit and have a beer with them to talk real football. As it would be frustrating.

I have a friend that repeats the same crap over and over even though I show him proof that he is wrong, as others do also. Now we just tell him to shut up, and walk away. But not just about the Cowboys.
I hear the same crap over and over about other stuff. He really has no life.

I highly doubt that. Collins is not that type of player having seen him all these years.

The team has never indicated that the issue is being out of shape.

That all came from Mike Fisher and some other media/pseudo-media repeated it.

Do you really think that a 27 year old athlete needs more than the 4 plus week of camp and another 3 weeks on IR plus the week after coming off IR before the next game to get into shape?

He has an injury.

He had a car wreck and I'm not clear if that had any impact on the injury.

Collins never had issues previously with conditioning.

MM has gone full on Belli with how he divulges information. This is just media reacting to an information vacuum.

Car wreck may have hurt him worse than we thought. No way he is still out of shape to play some of the game.

Not when you have these patty cake training camps. I remember the 2 a days Jimmy Johnson used to have and they said the O-Linemen would lose 8-10 pounds a day and have to eat and stay hydrated just to hold there weight.

What is this?

This was a picture taken at the LSU football offices. I believe it was taken prior to the 2013 draft (Ware and a few others were drafted that year).

Dallas' first on field practice was Aug 15th. He wasn't practicing then and was doing conditioning work on the side with Brandon Knight. Quote from the article "and is thought to just need a bit more work to get back in shape. The expectation is that all three will soon be at work with the rest of the team." This is where the conditioning idea gets introduced. The third person was Erving.

The car accident happened on Aug. 20th. Looking at the video of the two cars, I doubt the injury there. It wasn't a major accident. He didn't go to the hospital. He was standing and walking around after (with the car already on the back of the tower) for at least an hour at the time of the video. The accident didn't cause an injury.

On Sept. 12th he is seen on a lake in North Dallas fishing, I believe in a boat, while the rest of teammates are in Los Angeles. Again, I doubt the injury at this point.

I don't know what this all points to, but none of it makes Collins look good. I guess there could be a concussion or something from the accident as those can linger, but fishing in bright sunlight on a boat certainly wouldn't help that and I believe he has been working on the side during practice, which would not be allowed to happen if he is in the concussion protocol. If he has any other injury (foot, leg, hip, chest, arm) that would be keeping him out I would have gone ballistic on him If I were MM or the front office for going fishing.

Again, non of this make Collins look good.
