Further embarrassing yourself with your 1st grade English skills....
Read my post again and try to read slowly and carefully
I never said Dak is a bad QB, I said he's not good enough to win the SB especially not with a $40M cap hit to the team the only QB i'd take at that price is Patrick Mahomes, who consequentially went to an AFCCG in 2018 with a bottom-half defense. Dak? 1-3.
Please tell me how we can fix a defense when we're paying the QB $40M, go on... I'm waiting
:omg:

What metric have you used to determine Dak can’t win a SB?

Be very specific because I really want to make detailed jokes about how stupid you are.

Thanks!

There is a valid point that with how depleted of talent our defense is, putting $40 mil into a QB at this point might not be the smartest move.

That is the sticky wicket. However, when you have an excellent QB, you have to keep him imo, and build around him. We lucked into Romo and Dak. The rest of the QBs we've had since Aikman have been abysmal. I don't like our chances of getting lucky again with another QB if we do let Dak walk. You have to have a QB worth a salt to have a chance in the NFL, and we have that. What we don't have is a defence. I think we can make signing Dak work. I think the first key is, when we get the high draft pick, try to trade down and add extra picks to our draft capital. The more picks, the better because we'll need all the picks we can get to fix this defence. After that, wherever we end up from the trade down, take the best defencive player possible. Ideally DT so we can stop a bloody run play. Then get the best safety we can get. I think that should be the plan.

Additionally, I think we make a few moves now that will help. 1, cutting Tyron Crawford saves us cap space, and it's not like he's been helping us at all. So, no real loss there. 2. Try to trade Cedric Wilson. I like Cedric a lot, and I vouched heavily for him to be picked by us. However, he's a tradeable. Now, before anyone lambasts me about trading him, we need to start making some moves to fix this defence, and we're probably not going anywhere this year. I'd sell high on Wilson soon. There are teams that need WRs, and we can probably get a good pick for him. We got him in the 6th round. I think we realistically could get him for a 3rd depending on how badly a team might need a slot WR (which I think Wilson has proven to be capable of being). For example, the Titans look great and may need a a slot WR to help take their offense to the next level. I think we could get a 3 from them for Cedric Wilson. I'd also look to try to trade Blake Jarwin in the offseason. I think we can get a good pick for him, and Schultz has proven to be a solid TE for us. This makes Jarwin tradeable for us. So, maybe we can see what we get for him too. I think a 2nd round pick for Jarwin is feasible, but, given his ACL, a 3rd may be more reasonable. This gives us at least 4 3rd round picks at least between likely 1 comp 3rd round pick, the 3rd we'd have anyway, and 2 more 3rd rounders. That is some serious firepower if we want to try and get another first round pick, or stand pat and see what falls to us.

I shall open a thread about this to expound on this thought. However, these are a few things I think we can do that keep Dak here, and help us expedite building this defence.

Is it meaningless that Dak has played behind this train wreck OL all season and produced epic passing performances versus Dalton looking like a deer in the headlights?

Is that what you mean by “meaningless”?

Again....context. Dak wasn't sacked more than 3 times in a game, Dalton got sacked 4 times and got consistent pressure put on him all night. I will repeat: Dalton is not on Dak's level, but even Dak would have struggled last night and might have been sacked EVEN MORE since he struggles with pressure coming from his right side (oddly enough)

The O-line hasn't been good this year, but they were atrocious last night. It's hard to even know what Dalton brings us due to it being so poor.

A better alternative to signing an average QB $40m/a yr is....

*exhales*

Don't sign him!

Name for me a QB that would be a better alternative that would fix this disgusting defence. Imo, this whole defence needs to be gutted. You have to have a solid QB to have a chance, and we have that in Dak.

Actually, the onus is on you to prove to us Dak can win us a SB? Because for the past 5 seasons he hasn't won anything.
Go on genius, enlighten us with your metrics.
So far your only indication he can win us a SB is because he's leading the league in passing yards... yet he is 1-3. So you lost that shot. Try again.

Nice leaving out Stafford there, genius. Also Big Ben wasn't great in 2018, if you actually watched some Steelers games.

Big Ben has been regarded as one of the top qb’s in the game. Stafford did it in 2011. “Since 2011” means 2012 and on and I even stated that I would be posting 2012 and on. I do appreciate you calling me a genius though. I certainly was on this post. Next time you should check your stuff before you post and you won’t look like you currently do, which isn’t very good.

Is it meaningless that Dak was under constant pressure every game but got rid of the ball like a confident gunslinger after finding an open receiver (Cedric Wilson even got fed!) which resulted in epic passing performances versus Dalton pump faking all night and holding onto the ball too long and subsequently sending our explosive high scoring offense into a ditch?

is that what you mean by “meaningless”?

LMAO!!!

You think the all the QBs on that list suck!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

No, I do not. I think Stafford and Winston are sub par QBs (Stafford has had some good years, but overall, he doesn't take the Lions over the top). Brees was putting up 5,000 yards since 2008. However, after that, Brees was also throwing the ball a crap ton in the years where they weren't making playoffs - I believe he threw the ball nearly 700 times one year. Big Ben threw the ball 600+ times in 2018. High passing yards is not indicative of quality play, that list proves it - unless Winston and Stafford are elite, it's silly to brag about this.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!

By this metric most of the QBs in the HOF were bums!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

you look so stupid!!

SOOOOO entertaining!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

And you don’t understand that the burden of proof lies with the one making the claim!!

BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Uh, no, since 2011 means....since 2011, you want the definition? But either way, the simple fact that Winston is on your list and Brees had to throw nearly 700 times 3 years in a row tells you it's not indicative of quality, it's more of a volume stat. And I don't care where Big Ben is ranked, he was not great in 2018. He had 34 TDs to 16 INTs on 600+ pass attempts, that was with Brown and Ju Ju. I will repeat: He was not great, his numbers came from volume stats.

I didn’t forget anything. I told you exactly what I was doing and you were wrong to try and include someone who wasn’t in the time frame I clearly stated I was using.

It’s ok to be wrong. We all are from time to time. You’ll get over it. Have a nice evening, and try not to be too rude to people.

...I don't care what you MEANT by it. I said since 2011, you obviously do not know what the word means. You specifically did this so you could leave out another name. Don't ever attempt that with me again, I will call you out.

But again, either way, when you see FREAKIN' WINSTON HAVE 5,000 YARDS PASSING it tells you that passing yards alone is pretty meaningless without context. Imagine the Bucs forum posting how Winston lead the league in passing yards and just completely ignore his turnover rate. You suck at this.

Go make a Dak Prescott fan forum. Last time I checked this website is called DALLAS COWBOYS FAN ZONE.

AFTERSHOCK!!!

Pretty much describes what you must have felt after watching your hero Dalton fold like a cheap suit last night.

Last time I checked, Dak was a Cowboy.

Maybe we need a troll board just for trolls like you. I know its been suggested.

There are no Dak haters just Cowboy lovers!!!

NFL notes in history:

"In 2020 Dak Prescott led the league in passing yards for two weeks after he was injured and out for the season. His team was tearing up the league with 1 win and 3 losses at the time of his injury."

HAHAHA

Makes a thread praising Dak despite having a 1-3 record this season and going 8-8 last season just to feel vindicated

Have fun winning a SB paying Dak $40M next season on a bum ankle and no cap space to get a legitimate defense

Oh wait, we couldn't even win a NFCDG with Dak on a rookie contract!

But it's alright, he's leading the league in yards!!!

GO COWBOYS!

Not a whole lot of substance in your comment bruh. We get it you dislike him so much that you want the whole world to forget we have the worst defense in the ENTIRE NFL.

Sorry no one is buying that dung heap.
