Could Wentz be the perfect backup for Dak next season?

Given his recent benching if salary wasn’t an issue he would ideally be the BEST back up quarterback in the league.
Getting him on a cheap salary and letting him learn from Dak for 2-3 years May make him serviceable.

I would say no.

I would also say that The eagles can’t cut Wentz. His contract makes him incuttable until after the 2021 season at the earliest.

He won't be cheap next year. There's your problem. One, he won't be cut. It's too much of a cap explosion for Philly to do that. Two, if you trade for him, the team that acquires him is still going to be on the hook for his base salaries going forward and some of them are huge. For example, if he's on a roster in 2021, his 2022 base of $22 million becomes guaranteed.

If talent and money was all that matters, sure, why not.

But considering that it has been reported that a good portion of the Eagles locker room didn't really like him, then heck no.

I rather go young or bring Dalton back. At least in those two cases, there is less of a chance of adding a butt hole to the team.

He would compete for the starting job.
This season is a fluke.

Wentz’s Philly extension, which begins in 2021, guarantees him $70mil — whether he plays, sits on the Eagles’ bench, gets traded or gets cut.

Why would Wentz take a penny less to be a backup for the Cowboys?

C'mon man. The Eagles owe his over $100 million. What team is going to trade for him to be their backup.

The Eagles might have to throw in a 1st or 2nd round pick for some team to trade for Wentz and accept his contract. Give up a draft pick to gain cap space. Wentz right now has negative value.

A thread full of people who are seriously reacting to a hysterical troll post. Well done OP.
