Alex Smith's calf injury is a functionality issue and not soreness

Football Team coach Ron Rivera has expressed optimism Smith will be ready to go for Sunday's do-or-die tilt with the Eagles, but Smith's calf apparently hasn't been tested since Friday. How he feels on Wednesday and how his leg responds on Thursday will be the two biggest stumbling blocks of the week. It will be Taylor Heinicke in prime time if Smith can't go.

I know this isn't Cowboys news, but it really is.

I had read that because of the knee operation Smith had, it required taking muscle from the right calf to reconstruct areas around his knee, leaving him with less muscle mass in that calf. That makes the calf strain he is dealing with a bigger factor than normal.

With that defense Smith doesn’t have to be fully ready....the offense is hand it to gibson and throw passes in the flats......

i cant see Philly winning this one

With that limited offense, does not mean success, even their their defense plays well.
Smith is not that good, and neither is their defense. It is not like they are the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens.

Commanders and Cowboys parlay this week. Easy win. There is no chance the Eagles beat the Skins. It just isn't happening. I hope I'm wrong and lose my bet but I feel pretty confident I'll be getting paid.

That's terrifying.

It was a miracle he returned and media has said that given the reconstruction that was done to that knee. Having said that it makes that calf strain a real issue for him and especially on his right leg that you use to push off on when making a throw.

I'm seriously concerned about his health. He needs to retire.

..sounds like they will band aid it and hope for best. All it takes one play to aggravate it. You think Philly wont be bltizing? >>>good luck>>

Or the Rams to the Jets. Nothing in this game is guaranteed. Division game in Philly certainly makes it less likely the Commanders will win.

I see the Philly vs Washington game as a toss up. And Dallas has proven to me that they can come out flat and play poorly so not taking the Cowboys game for granted. I'm kind of in a wait and see mode. 1st step Beat NY if that happens then I will watch the Washing/Philly game and just hope for the best.

I’m right there with you. Division games, any division, are tossups unless one team is vastly superior to the other. It’s why I was so shocked by what happened on Thanksgiving. I blame Coach Analytics for Dummies for that game.
