Hard pass on Cisco.

People romanticize him because of his ball skills but this dude gets murdered in coverage over and over again. Probably one of the worst safety drafts I've seen in awhile though.
Isnt Moehrig from TCU supposed to be pretty good?

Maybe some local folks have seen him and can comment.

Looking like safety will remain a problem in Dallas

Moehrig is serviceable, but the DFW draft mongers seem to prefer Ar'Darius Washington, the other TCU safety. But he's like, 5'9.

He’s from Syracuse. We never draft Cuse players. Moose being last of any magnitude

We need a FS specifically. I'd take him late 1st, early 2nd. Most of the safety's in this class are more SS.

Wow ok.

That height makes me think of Bob Sanders and Thomas Everett off the top of head.

That's on the optimistic side of course.

When I'd see the Cisco highlights, I was like "a real ballhawk, finally!" so I set aside some time to watch his games, watch all his reps.

Boy was I disappointed. I've said it here before, this kid is feast or famine. He has some Jeff Heath to him where he takes God awful angles to the play or bites so hard on stuff underneath that QB's can throw easy passes deep over the middle. He also has so Xavier Woods to him where he will simply chooses not to tackle someone. He "opts out" of so many tackles and rarely ever squares up guys, choosing to duck out of the way and swipe at the runner's feet.

He does have some positive traits but I think he hurts you more than he helps you.

Now, as it gets later in the draft, maybe his ballhawking skills make the pick worth it, but I'm probably not touching him until the late 3rd round.

Moehrig is more than serviceable. He's not Ed Reed, but he'd be the best safety on the roster day one. I know that's not saying much, but if he slips to the second round or Cowboys trade back into the 20s he's a prime target.

I cant stomach another player who takes ridiculous angles to the ball.

It's almost like their brain tells them that they are faster than they are and cant adjust to a different level.

Thanks for the insight.

yup....we need a Free safety desperately. The good news is.....I think we found a keeper in Wilson. Love that kid on the strong side. As far as Woods goes.....he can take a walk.

Agreed! It's been a spell since we had a head-knocker. I really like Wilson. If we can find a FS, how nice would that be?

What game specifically was the bad tape? @KingintheNorth
I thought he was bad vs North Carolina this year, but to be fair, that's before I saw what UNC did to Miami's defense.

Last year, the Clemson and Florida State games are the ones I felt he was not consistent.

2018 had some rough reps vs Boston College and Louisville.

He's got great athleticism, so maybe he just needs better coaching (no dig at Syracuse) and to learn how to play under control.

It's like the team is outright prejudice against decent Safety play.

Held onto Heath way too long, wanting desperately to be right about him.

Kept propping up Xavier Woods each training camp only for nothing results during the season.

Then you have Donovan Wilson showing flashes in preseason last year and in camp, and then only played him when they ran out of bodies.

Stop being stubborn about the position and address it. Put a ballhawk with Donovan Wilson and then watch how much better Wilson, and the Corners, play.

Pass on him. I don't think he's worth a first for us, as much as we need safety. Wilson is a better player imo, and Collins from Tulsa is a better option. We need LB, and Collins is a monster.
