I don't see this happening. But there are some things I am not sure of, like Tyron's health and desire to come back and play for the Cowboys. But, if the Cowboys trade Tyron for a 2nd round pick and then take an OT, I'd be okay with that. Then they can take a CB and S in round 2. But is Slater the right guy at 10? He would be replacing one of the best LTs to play the game. Remember all the problems Andrew Thomas had this year for the Giants? I don't want that.

If they take an OT, they need to take a guy who is going to face Chase Young 2 every year.

I think tht if they select an OT at #10 they should flip Tyron for a pick and get some cap relief and salvage value out of him. Some team would give a 2nd or 3rd for him, if they are hungry enough.

Don't like it. I think Slater is a decent prospect, but feel like he's being bumped in mocks simply due to the dropoff after Sewell. I think Tyron comes back unless he retires - he's really not that expensive at $10M a year.

Next year looks to be a pretty strong year for OT in the draft.

Huge fan of Slater but id go Surtain or Barmore there.

Id roll the dice on someone like Leatherwood or Eichemberg in the 2nd
I think Leatherwood is gonna be a 1st rounder

Id feel ok about a OT at 10 if they trade Smith for 2nd rounder. Even with his injury history, with OT being such a need around the league I think you can get that for him.

8.8 in dead cap vs 14 cap hit...not that much cap relief. After next year it’s 5 dead vs 15 cap hit.

To me I think you have to stick with Tyron 1 more year (provided he’s medically cleared obviously). His play is still very good and his salary cap hit is actually extremely reasonable for a LT.

You can still draft a LT if the prospect is the best available to play LG and eventually take over for Tyron.

I really hope Tyron lets the FO know his plans before the draft.

If surgery has him feeling good, I love to see him play out his contract.

The full two rounds.

1. Jacksonville - Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson
2. N.Y. Jets - Zach Wilson QB BYU
3. Miami (Houston) - DeVonte Smith WR Alabama
4. Atlanta - Justin Fields QB Ohio St.
5. Cincinnati - Penei Sewell T Oregon
6. Philadelphia - Ja'Marr Chase WR LSU
7. Detroit - Micah Parsons LB Penn St.
8. Carolina - Trey Lance QB North Dakota St.
9. Denver - Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech

10 Dallas - Rashawn Slater T Northwestern
Many fans will disapprove of any pick that isn't a defensive player, but the Cowboys' offensive line woes were a constant theme all season. Not only does Slater have NFL ready talent, he offers the versatility to play tackle or guard, giving the Cowboys much needed flexibility.

11. N.Y. Giants - Kyle Pitts TE Florida
12. San Francisco - Patrick Surtain II CB Alabama
13. L.A. Chargers - Christian Darrisaw T Virginia Tech
14. Minnesota - Gregory Rousseau EDGE Miami
15. New England - Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama
16. Arizona - Jaycee Horn CB South Carolina
17. Las Vegas - Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB Notre Dame
18. Miami - Kwity Paye EDGE Michigan
19. Washington - Alijah Vera-Tucker T/G USC
20. Chicago - Teven Jenkins T Oklahoma St.
21. Indianapolis - Tyson Campbell CB Georgia
22. Tennessee - Zaven Collins LB Tulsa
23. N.Y. Jets (Seattle) - Azeez Ojulari EDGE Georgia
24. Pittsburgh - Mac Jones QB Alabama

32. Kansas City - Kadarius Toney WR Florida

33. Jacksonville - Wyatt Davis G Ohio St.
34. N.Y. Jets - Liam Eichenberg T Notre Dame
35. Atlanta - Jayson Oweh EDGE Penn St.
36. Miami (Houston) Travis Etienne RB Clemson
37. Philadelphia - Nick Bolton LB Missouri
38. Cincinnati - Asante Samuel CB Florida St.

41. Detroit - Rashod Bateman WR Minnesota
42. N.Y. Giants - Carlos Basham EDGE Wake Forest
43. San Francisco - Joe Tryon EDGE Washington

44. Dallas - Trevon Moehrig FS TCU
The last time the Cowboys drafted a safety in the first two rounds was when they took Roy Williams in 2002, so Moehrig would go counter to the organization's drafting history. But he would give Dallas a much needed upgrade over free safety Xavier Woods.

45. Jacksonville (Minnesota) - Pat Freiermuth TE Penn St.
46. New England - Levi Onwuzurike DT Washington
47. L.A. Chargers - Eric Stokes Cb Georgia
48. Las Vegas - Jay Tufele DT USC
49. Arizona - Chazz Surratt LB North Carolina
50. Miami - Josh Myers C Ohio St.
51. Washington - Terrace Marshall WR LSU

If Surtain is available I'd be surprised if he isn't the pick unless he runs poorly.

Slater is a stud though and I could get on board.
