This will be Brady’s 14th championship game appearance . The 2nd closet this era is Rodgers with 5. This year he’s proven it without Belichick which places him on another plateau.

Brady is the only QB in NFL history to knock off 6 MVP’s in the playoffs . The closet other is 3. This is a stat I didn’t know was kept until Greenie on ESPN revealed. And this Sunday will likely be another opportunity for another one .

Which brings up the MVP argument . Who is more valuable to a team than Brady this year? And why he’s get my vote despite whatever stats some of these other QB’s put up.

Rodgers is this year's MVP.
Mahomes is probably 2nd.

The very fact that Brady isn't quite what he was just proves that he is indeed the GOAT.

Almost as good as Montana.

Funny you mentioned this. I was always convinced Montana was over rated. That was until he took the chiefs to their first ever AFC championship game. And he was well past his prime. But then again, a broken clock is right more often than I am.

Montana is just a personal fav of his . It couldn’t have anything to do with what either has achieved.

Montana was definitely one of the greatest . But Brady’s 14 championship appearances, 9 Super Bowls and 6 Rings is unmatched. That places him in a league of his own.

And it’s not just the numbers. It’s his longevity , the way he’s gone about it. With the game on the line there’s no QB I’d rather have including Montana who until Brady came along I’d probably have said.

My father told me early on as an enthusiastic and loyal fan that we must always be prepared to anoint new greatness when it presents itself. He said “ old legends never die and new legends are born everyday”.

This season simply validates his greatness . And arguably supports it could have possibly been more about him than Belichick. But then that would go against the pedestal some have placed Bill on which he certainly deserves his accolades as well.

It’s obvious much like those who discount and hate what the Cowboys and their history and success represent are the same kind of fans who resent and diminish what Brady has accomplished.

I feel strongly that supporting Brady as the GOAT will be on the right side of history. But it’s not as popular a stance on a Cowboys forum :)

This is my opinion. I think a lot of that success can be attributed to Belichick. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing that Brady is great, but 9 SB appearances is over the top. What I'm saying is, I think had it been Montana, or some other great QBs of the past, they would have had similar success under Belichick. He's a great coach and good GM. Give him a great QB and it's game over.

Belichick has proven he’s a defensive guru. Arguably the best of this era . And Brady and Bill have proven to be the best HC/QB combo in NFL history. But until he wins something as a HC in New England without Brady it will be called into question.

I assure you if Bill would have had success this year without Brady and Tom had struggled in Tampa the opposite would be said. And why results matter. Without them all we have is speculative opinions.

Bill isn't a God and Brady went to a good team. My only point was Bill having an elite QB was lethal. Nothing more. I don't expect Bill to turn straw into gold. But give him an elite QB and he's better than any coach that ever lived.

Brady went to a 7-9 team. He made them good.

Put it this way, the Bucs being in the NFC championship game does not come as a surprise to me. An average to above average D and all of the pieces on offense. That's basically all you need now in the NFL.
