I think this is just a continuation of a deep NFL conspiracy to keep the Cowboys sucking bunghole. Keep rewarding and patting the team on the back......and they'll never change enough to be any good. Hey, lets put Jerry in the HOF!

I'm not good with his play and the financial compensation jerry gave him for said play. However I'm ALL FOR him being recognized. Some of these guys we watch play so well on Sundays are horrible people off the field. So in contrast to them you best believe I support Jaylon for what he does away from the field.

It's a player nominated award.
Not that I don't believe you but I was unable to find anything on the actual process to obtain the team nominee. The winner is decided by a panel of players. I do pretty much feel like Jerry picks the nominee though unless it is just some weird popularity contest within the locker room.

He is. I'll give him that but I want him off the team, nonetheless.
They don't have no one to replace him with at a position that has seen 2018 first-round pick LVE miss 12 games the past 2 years due to injuries.

MM said that Smith, whose 154 tackles in 2020 ranked third in the NFL, has been productive & goes about his job the right way. That said. I doubt you'll see him "off the team"!
Not going to bash someone for being a good human being. The world is in desperate need of good people. Congrats, Jaylon.
Amen Aviano! :)

My first thought was Jaclyn won an Emmy for her great work on Charlies Angels.

I thought the same EXACT thing....make it impossible from a PR point of view for Booger to cut him.

The NFL gets their cake and gets to eat it too. They get the attention the Cowboys draw that they need but nothing really accomplished by the team that they want.

I think the majority of the owners are happy they aren't really a factor because they tire of Booger's stage act. They would all prefer to remain in the shadows. How many other owners have been sanctioned and fined for running their mouth to the media about company business and he was told specifically not to comment during NFLPA negotiations and couldn't keep his mouth shut.

This proves that Jaylon definitely has a future career as a motivational speaker.

...hopefully starting in 2021

Good luck Jaylon. Cowboys Nation needs to see positives

I can see him winning this award if it goes to a player that displays good intentions for his fellow man, considering Jaylon didn't lay a hand on any offensive players all season

But all joking aside. Good for Jaylon. I'm glad we got a good character guy, and as another poster stated he may have a re-emergence next year with better coaching. But I'm proud of him that he's a finalist.
